If you have real friends and you are all caught-up in facebook, you pretty much disappear off the face of the earth into the black hole of social media. They start saying things like " where's rogue? ..Dunno, he's ain't around much anymore"..

So real friends, they will come to your house, pull the plug on that shit and take you out water-skiing.

Just deleted my F book account today. We seem to have reached a period in history where you, or someone you know, can be fired for something that you, or someone you know, said on social media. Can you imagine getting canned for “liking” something that is not PC?

I joined FB and tried to put only guitar-related stuff on there. It was useful for putting together a network of players and builders, but, after a year or so, I found that it was eating up more and more of my time. Some people I knew socially would now only get in touch with me via FB, and that seemed to be enough for them - I never saw them in person any more.

This April, I stopped FB completely, with the plan of taking a year off from it. It's been great. I haven't missed it for a second. I don't have Instagram, Twitter or any of that other crap either.

On FB, I also got those friend requests all the time from women I'd never met. There are probably dozens in my Inbox even now that I've not seen since I stopped logging in. Of course, every single one surely has to be genuine. Why wouldn't hot, busty girls the world over be drawn to me like moths to a flame? However, I never accepted requests from any of them.

I figure it's better to play hard to get.
