Nice Custom. Got any mods planned?

I tend to keep my guitars stock.
I can't really think of anything I need to do to make it sound better except....

PRACTICE!:D

Yeah too many guitars is probably not so good but there are about 4 more guitars I would kill to have and plan to some how acquire and those are.
R7 Goldtop with darkback
R8 plain top Washed Cherry
R9 flametop burst
Gibson Les Paul Custom Alpine White
And I'll always keep my first 1996 GLP Standard Cherry Sunburst

From that list it seems you like FAT necks (R7, R8)

You might want to check out the R0 or less expensive Plain top G0 1960 VOS.
I bought mine for $2349 Brand New and if you like the 1960s neck, it is fast and sounds every bit as good as the R8.
However, Plain Top R8s can be had for a great price also if you like fatter necks.

Basically the R8, R9, R0, and G0 are the same guitar with different necks.

I like thinner necks and got very lucky with my Les Paul Custom, it has the thinnest neck I have felt on a Custom.
It is much thinner than my 2006 Les Paul Studio and feels almost as thin as my 1960 VOS.

Thanks, but for only $35, it isworth it to me to make sure it is right the first time.

I'm LAZY:D

In my experience playing on a number of many different LP's I have no preference to neck shape I can play just fine and comfortable on a fatter 50's neck or a slimmer 60's neck, my standard almost feels like a combo between both and I've gotten used to it, it has a 59 neck profile I'm told but it's quite slim for a 50's style neck.
I would love to get my hands on an R8 as I know that is most likely the 1st one I will be able to acquire I love them they play great they sound great (IMO every bit as good as an R9 without the flames) so if you happen to know anyone who is willing to part with one trade/sell whatever do let me know.
Thanks!

The Block inlays do it for me too.

I traded my 2009 Les Paul Traditional Plus straight up for this, the Custom appointments and Black Inlays were a huge reason.

I think I could get you a Brand New one for $2600, no more than $2900 if you are willing to take a Blem (Customer Return).
It is considered New by Gibson with full warranty.

I have a friend at a BIG Online Retailer that would hook you up.

He gives me 20% off, my bet is you will get at least 10-15% off, no tax, and free shipping.:)

I'd be glad to hook you up.

If you wait a bit, I might end up selling my 1960 VOS.
If I could just get back my $2349 I'd be happy.
Can't beat that deal with a stick.
But, if a R8 is what you really want, spend a few hundred more and get what you really want.

As long as it was intact and it was a good player I wouldn't mind if it was blem.
but $2600 sounds a little pricey I just saw one go on CL around my area for $2200
I was so mad that I couldn't pick it up.
Also to be honest I don't have that kinda cash at the moment seeing as I'm still a teenager. But I would love more than anything to get my hands on an R8.

Wow, you sounded like an old guy, very mature.
$2600 for a Brand New one is good, I'll bet you find one for under $2000 used when the time comes.:)

I don't know what to say, I guess thanks? I just know what's right, what's wrong, what I want and don't act like a jackass so I guess I may be a little mature for my age haha.
Thanks for the offer to hook me up though I appreciate it, and if I do happen to come into some more money could I take you up on your offer in the future perhaps?
Really under $2000 used? point me in the right direction please haha.

Congradulations Yell03!

Your Custom reminds me a lot of my '78 Custom. The only real noticeable difference are the volume/tone control knobs.

I bought it brand new back when I was in high school for $725.:D
