Hey all,

I'm been reading up that Veltex is good to put on top of the plywood (loop), and then you put strong velcro (hook) on the bottom of the pedals.. now I've been doing some searching and this is what I found on ebay:

5'x5' ChromaKey VELCRO Veltex foam-back cloth ChromaKey - eBay (item 200181256694 end time Mar-03-08 19:49:26 PST)

It's a lot more than I need (can't find in smaller quantities), but is that the loop fabric?

I've also found this:

INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH VELCRO TO COVER YOUR PEDAL BOARD !! - eBay (item 140208015747 end time Feb-23-08 09:48:06 PST)

Just not sure how the quality is

Actually, I'm dumb - lol

I know that velcro is a good thing (been googling), but here's my dilemma:

Let's say I get my plywood.. before I cover it with velcro, what should I do to my plywood? I want to paint it black (just to be consistent), but should I treat the plywood with anything? reinforce it with something? That's my big dilemma now

spray bomb it black. The velcro tape won't stick to the plywood on its own.

Oh and AVOID the industrial strength velcro... Its way too strong and if you want to pull a pedal off it will likely just rip the glue off the sticky part instead.

Regular velcro is plenty strong enough for pedals. I tried the industrial on my pedal board and it does not let go when you want to move something...

what about borders? I'm thinking of putting something around the edges (since it IS plywood).. nothing too thick but something rubbery maybe

Nice! That plastidip stuff looks sweeeeeeet! I can just brush on the outside perimeter after I spray paint it :applause:

Can you find it at home depot, walmart, target, etc or only online?

your best bet other than online would probably be a hardware store... id try home depot or lowes before the other stores... I think ive actually seen it at lowes before.

Hi All
Interesting to read your views on velcro and pedals!
Was reading in Guitar magazine in UK and there is a new product out that people seem to think is very good called Pedal Board Tape, the guitar magazine gave it 5/5 in a test, worth having a look.

Just paint the Plywood and use 3M's Dual lock to attach the pedals to the board.
