I figured I'd ask for some help here since there are some fart smellers, err I mean smart fellers on here. :thumb:

How and the heck do you get the big killer pictures in your add? Here is an example of what I'm talking about.
Fender USA Eric Johnson Stratocaster - WHITE BLONDE HOT - eBay (item 160349079240 end time Jul-22-09 17:27:54 PDT)

Notice that when you scroll down, the pictures are as big as your monitor. (at least on my 13 Mac).

Here's an auction that is like mine turn out.

Any input would be appreciated. Any other tips that anyone would like to share would be cool too.

You probably need to use an HTML image tag like this:

<img src="http://www.yourpicturesite.com/yourpicture.jpg">

I think that the "jumbo" sized pics, and the pics that pop up as you scroll your mouse over them, cost extra $$...didn't you see different options available when you placed the add? It's been a couple of years since I sold anything on ebay, so I can't remember exactly...

I recommend that you set up a Photobucket account and put them there, and have links going there from your listing page. This will save you some money on the listing, and you can put as many pictures as you want on it.

This. Freeish

Supersize pics through ebay are a joke. They still limit you to something like 760x480.

Be careful not to make them too large. People don't like pics they can't see all at once on screen.

I have a photobucket account and I use the HTML tags on Craigslist to get big pictures in my adds on there but they don't work on ebay. I even did an add at the same time on both Craigslist and ebay for the same item and it worked on Craigslist but not egay. I figured it was something egay had blocked to make you pay for your pictures.
Thanks for the replies.

As far as I know you can still link photos in your ebay listings to another site? :hmm:

You can use Photobucket but the code is different than for craigslist. Photobucket will generate it for you on pictures you select though. Don't remember if you need to switch to HTML viewing mode in the eBay editor to do it.

I can't remember which it is but try the different codes on pb. One of them works.

Hey Jomo, when I use my Photobucket in conjunction with Ebay, I just paste the link to get to my Photobucket website, I don't put in any special code for individual photo links. That way you don't have to worry about special code.

It reads as if I use multiple Photobucket links in my previous post, but I only use one. I've seen people embed individual Photobucket links in their Ebay ads, but I don't do it that way, and it works fine.
