Over the last 1400 miles, I have filled the gas tank several times, went into two grocery stores and rented one car. I have had no more interaction with others than if I was cooped up at home. Gas and groceries. I also used gloves and clorox wipes. I even cloroxed my credit card when the chick touched it with her bare hand. I also wiped down the outside (handles) and almost all interior surfaces of the rental car., before I got rolling.
I'm doing he same thing, though not as many miles.

I totally lucked out. If it weren't for the Chinese Wuhan Virus, I would have been in traffic and would have bailed after the first hour. I think that the NC portion has slightly more spectacular views

For sure. I love driving though the mountains but at certain times of the year you need to check the weather in certain parts. When I used to take my son back to WVU I would always check the trips high point, Frostburg, as it could get snow storms, temperature drops and thunderstorms that you drove into rather than under.

They now have an interactive map showing all closings and weather conditions and forecasts for almost all mile markers. I called the dispatcher just to check and see if the road east of Asheville was really closed due to ice and snow and he confirmed that was true.

Imagine what it must feel like to work at a grocery store, hey we need you to come in today to risk your life so people can hoard toilet paper. No worries, just cough into your elbow you'll be fine.
Oh yeah, I have also been exclusively peeing outdoors. So, I don't get the virus in a pubic bathroom. Have avoided needing to plop thus far. Hope to be home before the situation goes critical.

I tell you that it has been a great distraction. I may do another 10-hour trip to retrieve my daughter's stuff from school. That one also goes right be some great fishing spots. I wonder if I can even get a fishing license (in NY or NC or VA) right now.

I was at a store recently and for the very first time in my life, I washed my hands to take a pee, then washed my hands again, then used a couple squares of TP to get out unscathed (which I do all the time anyway, I never touch anything after the hand washing.) I even asked my dick to sneeze into it's elbow just to be safe.

I've been looking at this site every morning ever since a member here posted it. Sorry I can't say who that was to thank them.

I'd love it if it had a breakdown by town/city as well.

In VA 17 of the deaths are 5 miles from me in a medical facility.

Try starting with this map.

Looked at the instant pots.... Just haven't jumped on one yet....

I still have my old ass Presto.... Used it tonight and made cream of chicken and wild rice.... Great cheap cooker... It is the old school with the magnetic cord connect butt plug insert... No need to ditch it.... It works great. Stews, soups, beans, etc..... Popcorn even....

Hot air fryer, big white George Foreman indoor grill, and the Presto, the stainless nuke box with the griller drawer in bottom,I don't have to fool with the stove/oven.....

Tonight dumped the wild rice, water, salt, pepper, and a generous grind of the Habanero Lime grinder.... 40 minutes later, dumped in the Cream of Chicken soup, another 10 minutes and vittles.... Sammiches and dead bird rice... Hell yeah, Rusty....

The thing I love about it is the speed. 10 minutes of chopping, 5 minutes to brown the beef (right in the Instant Pot), then dump all the ingredient in and set it for 18 minutes. Between pressuring up and then down, 40 minutes later you have chili that tastes like it was slow cooked for 12-18 hours.

Chicken and rice is even quicker. 8 minutes and the chicken falls apart when you stir the rice.

Checking that web page is like watching an approaching storm from the coast, it just keeps getting closer and closer eventually it looms over everything and you're in the eye of the storm praying you survive.

I am just under obsessive about washing my hands. I have been into cooking for 30+ years and am always worried about serving up some sort of pathogen. That said, I have always wondered why we are taught to wash our hands after we touch out junk. Because we'll let any woman, who will volunteer, put it straight in her mouth.

One of my buddies, who is a good cook, got one (insta pot of some sort) a while back and he loves it.
