Thumps, I remember discussing this some time ago in one of those WW2 threads. At the time I remembered reading about German intentions to launch missiles on New York although I couldn't remember the source, maybe it was related to the communique that Goebbles made regarding their intentions referenced here that I had seen..... Anyway, an interesting video......

This thing has fascinated me for quite some time. The stealth fighter and subsequent authorization of a bomber that would have reduced Britain's radar head's up across the channel from 20 minutes to two. The second invasion of Britain might have been a whole nutha scenario. The Horton HO 229 (I think)

Let me be clear..to "whomever" (not Edro particularly) that my quips meant no disrespect to either Dom or John (Gooner) who I've "known" (as well as interwebz correspondents can know each other) a long time on this thread and respect him as a very nice guy with an extraordinary level head (mmm...thought that would sound better than it did). He knows I'm an inveterate wiseass and I hope he takes it as proffered..a friendly jab. And I hope Dom does the same. I've found myself at odds with other good people more than once. And really, this whole thing is an extraordinary situation.

My role as rodeo clown and occasional Greek Chorus is well established and I would be remiss in my duities if I didn't comment pithily (there's that word again) on matters that didn't concern me. (Nun o my damn bidness) A job woefully unappreciated I must say.,

Oh yeah? You STILL have to have the last word....and then some.....and then some more.......and then some more more.....

I'm sure JV would be able to shed a little more light on this. Some of the German technology at the time was impressive.

WTF?

Okay, still trying to be constructive here. You asked me why I didn't just say that the government received bad scientific advice and instead blamed the government for an ideologically based failure of public policy.

Too late, if you think I'm going to take this seriously and get into it again after your recent nonsense, you've got another thing coming.

Gooner is correct. The man who can shed light on all things Luftwaffe especially the Bf 110 is definitely JV.
But then don't just take our word for it, ask his radio operator and rear gunner "Herr Gunther Gaspants".
Why Vasco picked him I'll never know.. :dunno:

Here we go Frank, I've gone through a lot of this guy's stuff, quite interesting, he tries to go for the unusual.

Scattergun: When something standing there does not need to be standing there no more...
My sawed off single barrell Winchester currently rusts at the bottom of my pond. The barrell was 18". Used as a equalizer of last resort in my previously mentioned bidness associations. Never fired in anger but sho nuff gave a lot of assholes pause. :laugh2:

Even I could hit the side of a barn with it.

Freakishly so. Was talking to my son the other day about their heavy water program. The world came so close.

A few key battles, bombings or guerilla actions lost and today Tom would be our Overlord.

There's always a bigger meaner dog. A..uh...person I know bought some bales from some Mexicans and during the dickering he noticed they smelled a bit of gasoline. Maybe from the bottom of a boat...or something that had been dumped and retrieved from around a dock or something. He objected and said nope..deal's off.

"Oh no senor. These are yours" :laugh2: These were the kind of subhumans that were boiling people alive. So he ate the loss.

This was after I got away from them. Can't say as it bothered me much. :naughty:

I guess if he ditched in the channel he'd make one hell of a flotation device.

We all have potential for evil.

Quoth Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn:

The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either – but right through every human heart…even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained. And even in the best of all hearts, there remains…an uprooted small corner of evil.
