NOBODY listens-until boot meets teeth. Did anybody save$ for a "germy" day? I did----Do I need a car $$? I live one mile from work-----No---I'll buy a JAZZMASTER for less than one month car payment.

Right. When it's all done and our government has enforced our protection and can claim responsibility, it will only ever happen again if they need to save us. What is the threshold for the need to be saved? We lost 60k to the flu last year.

JFC... not everything is a fucking government conspiracy. Look at the data. Don't believe the media; don't believe the government; don't believe the doctors. Fuck them all.

But, just look at the data. Then, figure it out for yourself. But, don't let your own personal beliefs, bias, or paranoia sway your analysis... just look at the fucking data and try to understand it.

Left unchecked, this will not "die out". There is more than enough data to show that.

Go here... no commentary, no politics, no hysteria, no bias - just a collection of data. How can anyone not see it?

Makes one wonder about the potential of dodgy reporting on the number of infections. Tough enough to get accuracy domestically, the international reporting is a shitshow of uncertainties. I know that several US states have stopped reporting their negative test results between March 10 through about the 17th. For whatever reason.

Uncertainty, at this point, divides even more, those who think this is the end of the world vs. those that are skeptical whether this is all overblown and makes the response magnitudes worse than the virus itself.

I have looked at the data and figured it out for myself. Thanks.

Nope. I believe it's all panic. I'm not fighting it. I'm doing what I'm told. Family too. Not going anywhere. Washing hands etc. I'm not fighting with anybody about it. We'll see how it plays out. I'd be willing to bet it fizzles right out without being anywhere near the predicted numbers but I can't afford to because I'm banned from earning money at the moment.

Good luck man. While you're off, and if you're interested, there are plenty of non-US media sources where you can find real information about what's really going on with this thing. Lots of info in this thread too.

Certainly you're free to believe what you want, but again, there are no respected experts who share the same conclusion. I think that's worthy of consideration.

So tell us again, how these fuckers are our friends, and how much we need them and how much we should keep doing business with them.

To be fair, that's one example. There are also examples of Chinese people trying to infect each other with the virus. There are examples of folks outside of China who were happy to see this explode in China, and there will be folks who will be happy when they get their second wave.

A bit of humanity all around would go a long way.

I thought this was the conspiracy thread. I'm not endangering of you. When it's over we'll see. When should we shut everything down again? What would warrant it? That's all I'm concerned with. I happen to know quite alot of people who are thinking the same way. You can dismiss me as stupid and crazy if you want. I'm well adjusted enough to handle it.

well @danohat's point is that this sets a precedent for future "nationwide shut down" types of scenarios.

what is deemed "enough" to do this again?

i think that's what he's getting at.

as far as the data, that speaks for itself imo. even with the obvious spike due to a lack of prior testing, it's still real numbers which are probably much higher, as we (mostly) all suspect.
