I installed one of these a couple of years ago:

Works well, but it's not heated... I'd want something warmer in norther climates, but this works just fine for LA

UA Fayetteville has a answer for these kids---they closed the campus, nobody is coming back, its all gonna be done remotely for the rest of the semester.
I think almost all colleges have done the same. Both of my kids have had everything go online for the remainder of the semester as of a few days ago. One lives off campus (frat house) and plans to go back, next week. We're in quasi-lockdown while back at school, not so much.

My buddy's wife is Japanese (like he met her in Tokyo, not "of Japanese descent"). He's spent more of toilet technology than anyone I have ever known. The toilet seat will help you with your homework, for crying out loud.

My girlfriend (she is a doctor) did a test, and got a result less than 24 hours ago (negative for now). So that’s become quite a bit faster. Which is good. It‘s still very scary, that she has to go back to work on Monday and continue working without proper protection, as this is currently simply unavailable. I hope they ramp up local production quickly, as most of this equipment used to be made in China.

I had quite the interesting experience at a guitar center i visited (got me a prs mt 15 head and i tried a couple cabs im considering matching it with, so far the marshall origin cab is winning)
They were disinfecting the guitars...... i.... dont think that is good for the guitars?
Like i knew i wanted the prs mt 15 head but wasnt sure what cab i wanted to match it with so i tried it on a couple cabs, and as well i used a couple guitar styles, strat, tele, paul, v, and a esp eclipse with active emgs. And they told me to bring the guitars to them and they would spray it with this concoction in a spray bottle then put it back as well as wiped down the cabs and cables (they didnt the head cause i already bought it) xD weird af i cant imagine thats good for the guitars if they were using some chemical, hoping its just like water and a slight soap cause i dont think it would matter too much for finishes to get just a light spray but they were spraying the fingerboard and strings too o-o
Congrats to your MT 15, great little amp.

How about a picture of the dog?

That’s a breed I’ve wanted for years now. Currently paired up with a Pug, so you can imagine the deep, overwhelming feelings of disappointment.

My wife is back at work today. Still no idea how soon they will know anything about her corona-suspect patient.

Hey!

A lot of positive responses over the last 20 minutes in this thread. Outstanding.

That's an "up spiral".

Beats the livin' shit out of a "down spiral".

I'm proud of a lot of you guys. Bravo!

Always easy to go downhill.

Tougher to go uphill.

But high ground is where it's at, guys.

Are you a mod here or sort of spirit guru?

I feel bad for health care providers, we have to protect them first and foremost in whatever capacity we can. They're risking their lives to save ours so what are we doing for them to stay alive?

Goggles/safety glasses/shields, gowns, masks and gloves are pretty much the standard for ppe. The concern is being able to maintain enough supply for all providers for an unknown duration.
Some ems/fire departments has implemented the policy of 2 providers (typically ambulance crew) make entry and assess the patient. The engine/truck company wait outside. If the eng/tk are needed they then gear up to assist the ambulance. So best case scenario 2 N95s and 2 sets of gloves are used vs 5 sets. Plus we are reusing the N95 masks where possible.

I'm certain hospitals are utilizing something similar but on a much larger scale.

I had to take my son to emergency with a dislocated knee. My missus left work and took over, because the local hospital was only allowing one visitor in per patient. She insisted.

They just tested two people positive for covid-19 there yesterday. In my local smalltown hospital. I feel really selfish right now, because of course, I can't help wonder if it was passed on to him.

Other than limiting the number of visitors, what other visible precautions did you notice? Did it appear there were extra steps being taken in regards to questions being asked upon entry or seeing patients or staff in masks/glasses/gowns?

Looking on the positive - this has furthered progress on the future of services and shopping so much. Stores are now embracing the "e-buy" thing, putting their own brand delivery package machines in front of stores.

People are learning to live in a way that they'll always be prepared. We might re-think how much crap we actually need in the future.

And most of all human kindness is beating the assholes right now.

I'll tell you a story. My dad had a professor in his college who was a prisoner in Auschwitz. Since the day the war ended and he was liberated, he ALWAYS had his left hand in his pocket and always had half a loaf of bread in that pocket, he held it tight. For the rest of his entire life.
All the time. Non-stop. He never let it go.

Maybe not so extreme, but this will cause people to "be prepared" in a way, too. We've been shocked into re-thinking our way of life again, as it happens every 20-30 years.

I had to wait at the emergency doors to give info. My missus was sequestered into a holding trailer setup outside the main entrance, which was shuttered. Louis had to wait alone until he was triaged (thank goodness it wasn't busy, you can wait hours at this hospital). Once he was in with a doctor, she was allowed in, but with full protective gear on. He's had this happen before, they usually do x-rays. Not last night. They gave him a shot of fentanyl, waited until he was dozy and popped it back into place. They got him out quickly.

Losing interest in going back to work next week

NYC is now the epicenter and I left for the day Thursday without work from home equipment because since I was on vacation, they didn’t want the limited resources going unused with all the news coverage

But now after learning a colleague has died and my wife found the news article about it she doesn’t want me going back and neither do I.

Going to have to make a decision. We’re weighing our options on how long we can go without a paycheck.

I have my clearance letter for the lockdown in case I do go i so I assume it will be a complete ghost town but still. This shit sucks
