I understand, so you think this is genuine too?

This is probably the most faked guitar ever, after the ace frehley custom. More than the half I see on the web, are fake. Probably even more than that 50%.

In all honestly, I dont know. :)

they did not have such high production-numbers (23159) back in '08

Regarding "they did not have such high production-numbers (23159) back in '08" the guitar at the ebay listing you sent me has the serial : 08101512652
checking online it says the following
Your guitar was made at the
Qingdao Plant (Epiphone), China
on October, 2008
Production Number: 12652
makes sense?

Not sure I understand, sorry but it is not my native language, could you clarify? and thanks.

guitar-un-dater 'verifies' a guitar made in 2001 in a factory (opened in 2002) before the factory exists
and also one in the future March 2020

Update, the seller attached some additional photos of the hardware, neck joint, guitar tuners and such, I'll appreciate if you could have another look before I place the order :)

@paruwi I have a question regarding the neck,

FAKE:

REAL:

Now to my question, the following is the guitar I ordered, since it looks like the joint has a slighlty darker color:

That's fine even for a legit Epiphone. What you see it's a scarf joint (two pieces of wood glued together to obtain a thicker wood needed to build the neck heel, and also the headstock/neck section.

It can be seen in both fake and genuine Epiphone. In your case I'd say nothing to worry about.

You can even see it in the original Ad from Epiphone (this is the latest version of the same guitar)
