These are not looking like Gibson. Who’s doing these?

looking pretty amazing to my eyes. I don’t own an Epiphone personally... yet. Currently shopping for a Sheraton. By my god, do the epiphones look (and play!) fantastic these days.

the mind set of Epiphone has poor QC is long gone. Hand made, nope, hand selected wood, nope. But a beautiful build at a fraction of the cost, yup. If you can find one constructed with good wood and upgrade what leaves you feeling short (pick ups perhaps) there is no shame on owning an Epiphone. And I am staring at a wall of Gibson’s as I say this.

If you can get photos of the back of the headstock and whatever stamp or label is inside of the F-hole, people here could almost certainly tell exactly what it is.

I, for one, would be very curious. Super cool ES 330! :thumb:

OK, mdubya - Sorry for the long wait for the info on the vintage 330 that my friend got for $250 at that yard sale. I totally forgot to ask him about it! Anyway, he got back to me today with the info.

He says it's a '65 (Kalamazoo) ES-330TDC.

It has the long neck join (19th fret vs 16th) and witch hats (assuming they are original). It would be a late '67 or a '68, at earliest.

Great guitar. It has the narrower nut, but that isn't always a big deal.

They continued like this into the early 70's, so still can't say exactly what year without more info (serial no., pot codes, etc).

I love to post this clip of Phil X with a 1968 ES 330 as one of the things that pushed my ES 330 desire over the edge. Long neck joint, narrow nut.

I am pretty sure Phil ended up buying that particular ES 330.

I will ask my bud for more pics, the serial number, pot codes, shot of the inside label, etc.

Had a red ‘70 ES-335 TD that I bought in’79 for $450 w/ohsc ... developed a neck crack, and stupidly traded it rather than having it repaired ... tried various semi-hollows since, including 339s, a 235 (gave to Nutz the Younger), Gibbys, Epis, you name it .... picked up a '12 Epi Dot two days ago in a trade ...

Finally home ...

ES guitars are awesome. It took me a long time to acquire my dream 335, the Rusty Anderson, but I finally got my hands on #186 in 2018 via a trade, and it's now one of my most prized guitars.

Here is one that got away. I never bonded, set up was horrible from the factory and the intonation was crap. Worked and worked on it but finally sold it for a Warren Haynes but that is another story. Wish I had stuck with this looker.

Hi, Mike

I was wanted to buy some guitars from GIl's Gbase store, amazing line up but some price must be out dated for while

But tried contact him both from Gbase and email, but both had no reply

Would you kindly tell me if any possible to reach this fine Gentelman? ;)

Gibson made ES-Les Pauls in the USA for three short years. And they made them in their Epiphone factory for about 10 years, up until 2019... the Epi ES-Les Pauls are awesome guitars, among the nicest Epi guitars made and rivaling Gibson's USA versions.

I installed the TVJones T-Armonds and a new harness in my wine red version:

Yeah... bound f-holes. Gibson was too damn cheap to give us that on the USA versions, you have to go to Epi for that.

And here is my Trans Black ES-Les Paul. The pickups sound so good, esp with split coil mode, that I just can't bring myself to change pickups, even though I am definitely a "mad modder".
