there are some, I think the burst CC45 is based on is owned by a member here. IIRC CD was a member here at one time, and he owns the real CC24.

Yup,... i believe that CD still is. Nicky is a big favorite.

I'd love to find a nicely relic'ed '59 335, which comes with Custom Buckers. Don't really care whether or not it's a CC or a replica of a particular guitar. I just like the idea of having a great sounding, great playing, great feeling 335 with the specs of a 59, made with the best woods available...

I recently sold my Vibro King amp to a local guy in a small mountain town about 2 hours from me. I delivered the amp to him because I have friends in his town. When I brought the amp into his place he had a gorgeous Les Paul on his couch. I asked about it, and he said he recently bought it from a dealer. The back of the headstock was repainted in black, with a stinger. When I asked about that, he said it was originally a CC, but the Gibson factory had painted the back of the headstock black, stamped a new serial number on it and sold it to the dealer he got it from. He said which CC it was, but I don't recall it.
Anyway, he let me play it and I could tell it was a Custom Shop model. It looked a little better than my R0 and was more resonant. It played fantastic, definately an R9 neck profile. Perhaps Gibson "repurposed" some of the later CC's?

Just a question to inspire a conversation. I really enjoyed some of the models that were produced, and not all were Les Pauls.

What models would you be interested in if the Custom Shop were inspired to commit to another run?

Does anyone know if there is a future project in the works?

Has the interest in these finally faded?

For me personally i really would love to see a couple SGs make a run.......

Probably not unless it is going to sell out and make them a pile of money.

Better start looking for an Eastman guitar then........I know they are Chinese, but their guitars are first class, and their colours and ageing process are outstanding - for half the price of a Gibson....

With the recent news of Gibson’s newly formed “Murphy Lab” I think we may have a new run of CCs or something very similar. Tom Murphy heading up a new branch of the Custom Shop could mean that Gibson ain’t done taking advantage of the aged guitar market. And those with fat wallets.;)
