Feeling sad about Randy Rhoads

Hey guys, after arguing in a poll about who's better.. Randy or Jimmy Page.. I am feeling bummed out for Randy... he is one of my all time favorite players... I wish he didn't die..... lets throw some love Randys way...
If I had a beer in hand I lift it to the sky and give a toast to him and thank him for inspiring me to play better..
Than you Randy!!! R.I.P...

i thought randy was a far better player than page.as much as i like jimmys playing he has always been a sloppy untidy player,more of a riffer than a solo player in my opinion

I watched a very cool video/interview with Dee and Kel Rhodes this morning.
It was shot in the school that Randy's mom Dee opened in 1948.
It shows Randy's teaching room which has been unchanged since the day he left with Ozzy.
When it becomes available to the public I will post it.

When my best friend was attending Musician's Institute in 85', he met Randy's mother and she took him into see Randy's practice room. I recall my friend saying that he saw some of Randy's guitars but I do not remember if he specified seeing the flying V, the white Les Paul, or both.

You can't really judge Page and Randy together. Way different styles, way different times, and techniques had evolved, their music was different. Apples and Oranges.

Page in his time frame, judged against his peers was the best for me.

Absolutely. IMO you can't really judge musicians (or any artists) against each other anyway, it's all too subjective. That's another discussion though.

I love reading or seeing anything about Randy - he was the reason I first picked up a guitar 30 years ago.
