English body builder and actor, he usually played one of the heavies in his acting career.

Given that, you can see why he liked to 'pick people up'. Because he COULD! LOL!

Kinda figured there might be a few. A lot of folks forget that James Earl is only the voice.
I had seen him when I was a fan years a go in an interview with Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels.

He was a big boy!

Make no mistake, Darth Vader was a seriously big dude. It doesn't come across as much on screen, but I stood next to a screen accurate life sized mannequin,...and Darth Vader is a big effing dude.

Yup! 6 ft 7! I had forgotten just HOW tall he was. You are right, it doesn't really stand out with Vader's character.

You can kind of see it as he stands behind Leia as Tarkin is confronting her, he is taller than Tarkin.

you don't realize how big Vaders mask and helmet (or Stormtroopers helmets) are until you see them in person either. It's nuts.

...I think the Return of the Jedi helmets are smaller. But the Original Stormtrooper buckets are pretty large. ..bobble-head'ish.
