Redbox is apparently awesome

It works like a charm. Our drummer and bass player wear IEM's, so we need to mic everything for these two fancy boys. But in a tight rehearsal spot, micing everything introduces feedback opportunities. The Redbox takes one mic off the floor and lets me turn up my vocal mic.

For the record if your amp has a USB out you already have a direct interface

This, and with cab emulation built in.

With a clean channel (left) and a simulated channel (right)
And a built in D.I. (with no speaker load required)

^^ you can just buy new Windows SW and keep your current PC if you want! The USB interface would need a driver and as far as I know no one is supporting that OS anymore. Same with XP, if you try to find drivers it can be quite difficult.
The only issue with an older PC would be a lack of processing power and likely small memory.
