When I first posted last year, I was Custom-less. But thanks to my Beloved Mrs. Cherrysunburst00, this 1 is now my fave (this year's complement of gifts: birthday, Anniversary, Christmas: 1991, probably soon to have a pickguard)

I always though HCS was the best colour, but since then I've discovered the tri-burst customs. One day I will own one

I've had mine for a couple weeks now. I wasn't sure from the pics but in person the tri-burst is amazing.

Aged white. I'll buy one someday because of this guy:

Pelham Blue.

If I could find a nice, preferably new, LP Custom in Pelham Blue with an Axcess heel, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

That is beautiful...

Is it honeyburst or lightburst?

-Chris

thanks :thumb: ...the product code indicates sunrise teaburst. No marking in the cavity or anything. That pic makes it a little redder than in sunlight.

Its a tie between oxblood and Black.
You don't come across many ox blood customs but its a very dark redish/black color.

Today, I got confirmation that Gibson will in fact make me a Custom exactly how I want it through their Made 2 Measure custom program.

Surprisingly, the time from order to delivery is only six to twelve weeks and the options I want should come in at around $4,800, factoring a dealer discount for paying up front.

Looks like I'm going to get that Pelham Blue Custom after all. I'll probably order at the beginning of February after bonus time. I've got a lot of little details to decide in the meantime.

That is really cool. I've seen some of the M2M guitars listed on Reverb. What sort of dealer did you get? I thought if I ever did that, I would go through Sweetwater or something like that (I have an associate assigned to me, and since that's his bread and butter, it seems like he would take it seriously). That's not bad at all for price either, and the time factor is very reasonable too.

That's a real beauty. Congratulations on a great guitar.

Thank You. If you go through with your M2M, I hope to see your "NGD" thread

The shop I'm dealing with is Guitar Showcase in San Jose, CA. They apparently do M2M orders pretty frequently so I'm glad to work with them. I still need to select all the specific options I want and they'll get an official quote from Gibson. Their price estimate was based on recent builds they've ordered for customers.

The fact that I want a solid Pelham Blue helps keep down the cost and build time. Basically, I want a Pelham Blue Axcess Stoptail with rolled fretboard edges. The dealer has various necks I can try to decide which one I want.

However, they told me that customers can provide a photo of a particular top they'd like to match. Gibson will do their best to find a match and will send photos of potential matches for the customer to review. Gibson will keep doing this with various batches until they find a top the customer is happy with. This can of course add greatly to the cost and to the time since it can sometimes take months for them to find the right top.

Anyways, if you want a Custom in your favorite color, you can probably get it.
