Nope, nothing.
That's weird :dunno:
Anyway the 2005 has sold.
Normally, the 2009 can be found with eBay's search engine by entering Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded, Flamed Top, 50's Neck, Peter Green Larry Corsa.

That 2005 I was eyeing on Ebay UK has also sold, and no-one's buying my 335 :(

One of these days...

Getting a bit silly now. Guess we can blame ourselves a bit, though.
We're part of the buzz indeed, but to what extent?
We just testify that these guitars have great qualities, although they started as poor men's Les Paul Standards with their close to nothing finish that didn't appeal to collectors or wall decorators, but their feeling and sound speak for themselves, any player can verify their qualities and I suppose it's where we're at, a player's market. The problem will be worse if this market starts to attract collectors & speculators... which, sadly for us, might be on the way.

Now good news for you Joe or anyone this side of the pond, I've found the 2008 for sale here at €1850 - £1455: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gibson-Le...462317?hash=item1a14c2d42d:g:gbMAAOSwepJXUyXU

790006GibsonLesPaulFadedFT2008Top3.jpg

also for sale on a french site here for €250 less, at a "low" €1600 - £1240: Gibson Les Paul Standard 50's Faded Tobbaco Burst 2008 (Alsace) - Audiofanzine
IMHO it has a potentially gorgeous top with great flames that unfortunately are not highlighted by the dull TB finish, but at this price (if I didn't already have my "Grail" Faded) I'd buy it and have a top refin in HB or Lemon drop and complete hardware upgrade for less than the silly prices that tend to pop up nowadays for just "regular" Fadeds with average tops. And these chambered babies truly have a great resonant sound, believe me I have one, they just are slightly more prone to feedback (Fus44 apparently loves it) than the swiss cheesed ones, but only if you play REALLY loud on stage, and still way less than a 335.

I like that one. Pics are a bit not so inspiring, though.
Same feeling here!
Is the guitar on the first (small) picture the same as on the other pics?
It looks different to me (flames and pots.)
More pictures in a higher resolution would be welcome.

^^I like it. It's an 07, a few months older than mine. Nice fingerboards on the 07's I've handled. I thought for sure mine was dyed, but I've used mine so much that if it was, it would've come up by now. Either that or they did it perfectly (as opposed to my R9).
07 was a great year for maple as well. There are stunning R guitars and many of the big tops for Fadeds are 07's.

We don't help the hype for sure, but each one of us agrees that these things deliver. I've read so many posts across many forums that have just reinforced the opinions shared in this thread over the years.

All I can say is, the Reissues will go before the Faded!

Beautiful one indeed, but again quite pricey for a 'regular' (i.e. not upgraded) Faded...
...But who knows, with such a gorgeous top, this could be a bargain in 2 years time... if prices continue to go through the roof...
I realise that I was very lucky to find mine at the right time (I had the cash) and at a lower price. Even with all the upgrades that went in it (Vintage relic aged tinted reflector knobs, Gibson historic mounting rings, Gibson historic knob pointers, Gibson amber switchtip, Gibson OEM Burstbucker nickel plated nickel-silver covers, Bridge PU: Seymour Duncan SHPGP-1B Pearly Gates, Neck PU: Seymour Duncan SH-1N RP ‘59, Luxe PIO Bumblebee capacitors set, Pots: 3-500K CTS “True Vintage Taper,” short shaft; 1-500K Push-Pull for phase change, TonePros nickel locking AVR II bridge & tailpiece, posts & studs, Kluson 1960-1963 Les Paul/SG single line double ring nickel tuners, Schaller nickel straplocks) it finally cost me less than this one :)

I don't value other people's upgrades, even a nickel. (Not trying to attack you.) I'd rather have a clean slate to work with. I just don't think the cost is justified when buying. I've said it before, I laugh when people try to get that premium for a couple changed parts, which IMHO, do very little.

Nothing to object to that, esthetically YMMV.
However - sonically speaking - some upgrades (locking bridge, mics, pots & caps) do make a difference IMHO!
On top I like a little Glitter (luxury sin?) on some of my girls...
Maybe I'm a pimp :naughty: :D

Hey, if I'm not really using the volume (or the tone, for that matter) controls for nuance, what could I expect with a harness change I recently threw the Super 70's PU's in there and it sounds divine. Could wiring make it sound any better?

If you don't use your volume or tone pots, a new harness won't obviously change things much, if it does.
You could even get rid of/bypass them, and have a direct wiring fom the mics to the mics selector & output jack (and that could make a change, less signal loss.)
Throwing Ibanez/Maxon Super 70's (the ones with alnico 8 magnets If I remember well, I had them on my first guitar, a 1977 Ibanez 2350S Les Paul Custom copy) in your faded looks well like an upgrade to me  :thumb:

I think most people would agree, but for me it depends on the upgrades.

A clean slate at a better price is always best, though.

If I do the upgrades, of course they are great and unquestionable......:laugh2:

I recently checked on another LP and the guy wanted $2500 citing "upgrades". I simply did not believe the upgrades were that significant.

The Original Pu's were already out of my Faded when I got it and the guy who sold it to me didn't even mention he changed the PU's to Sheptones, which were pretty good to begin with. The Alnico 8's are my secret weapons.

My 2 "Corsa" Fadeds (LCPG282 & LCPG-CF001) were logically updated by you know who, and I got each at a very good price (times before the present inflation on Fadeds,) just slightly above the price of my unmodified stock 2005 Faded, and they sound fantastic, therefore I'll keep them as they are.

I upgraded/customised (by myself:applause::laugh2:) my last 2005 because as I bought it without mics, I felt like giving the best hardware to the best top of them all.
For the least it satisfied me... and it was a pleasure to do.
