That's the starting price, not a BIN.

Real and that price is about right. It's a recent Chinese made model. I have an NJ Japan model. Offshore BC Rich don't have high resale value, I wouldn't pay good money for one.

Even new that guitar isn't very expensive.

My dream guitar is a late 70's/early 80's USA Mockingbird in Birdseye maple. Alas they are a bit on the heavy side so that dream is sadly dead :(

The price is about right. Look here:

BC Rich Mockingbird | Musician's Friend

They look cool, but in my experience they don't hang and balance properly (neck dive). If you play standing up with a strap you might want to check that out.

I had two Mockingbirds and yup, definitely a neck dive. It ended up working very well for me. I adjusted by using the body as a right arm rest of sorts and it was just too dang comfy :)

Some people just deal by moving the strap button. I love Mockingbirds but BCR really should have just moved the strap button from the start so this would have never been an issue.

Where would you move the button to? :hmm:

I never did it myself so I forget. Shame BCR Players Forum isn't around anymore. They had lots of examples.

Also a thick leather strap reduces the slipping.

I've had a Mockingbird for over 20 yrs, and as long as I've had it, the strap button has been on the edge of the body on the upper horm. Neck dive has never been even a remote issue.

Well, perhaps they are not all created equal? It seemed to me the problem was caused by the Mockingbird having a short top horn with the point of suspension above the 17th fret. My PRS SE Custom 24 has a longer top horn and the point of suspension is over the 15th fret (in other words closer to the headstock). When I played my Mockingbird I had to press against the body with my right arm to prevent the neck from sliding down; that was tiring and got in the way of playing. On the other hand my PRS hangs in neutral balance without any help from me.

I have one that I got in a trade... cost me around $250 all said. It's really not a bad guitar. I decided to keep it. It needs better pots and pickups but I actually like it.
