I'm new to the reissue world... What do they usually weigh in at? How much do yours weigh? Reissue bodies are completely solid aren't they (no weight relief?). Thanks. :slash:

Hey man, I would definitely recommend you check out Mark's Guitar Loft website. He has tons of great reissues for sale with very detailed descriptions of each. Neck measurements, weight, etc etc, and awesome pics.

Yes, they're solid, but must use quite low density lumber.

My '01 R9 weighs 8 lb 11 oz (8.7 lb, 5.3 kg). Fairly typical of the weight of a 50s carved top Les Paul, a shame it isn't one in any other respect.

My R8 weighs 8.55lbs. It was the sister of a same finish R8 I was offered (both from CCM) that weighed in at 2/10ths of a pound less (8.35lb). :)

Some of the 50th R9s are RIDICULOUSLY light. I know Saul had one that was 7.70lb!!!

What sometimes get confusing is expressing the weight
as a decimal as opposed to Pounds and Ounces.
9.5 Pounds, is 9 lbs. 8 oz.
9.6 Pounds, is 9 lbs. 9.6 oz.
Many people I talk to think that when they see 9.6 Pounds
the guitar weighs 9 Pounds 6 Ounces, which is not correct.
One Pound equals 16 Ounces.

My 2006 R8 Washed Cherry Plaintop VOS weighs 9.2-pounds
My 2002 R8 Butterscotch Flametop weighs 8.7-pounds.

It's my understanding that most non-chambered reissues average weight 9-pounds.
