To answer a couple of questions, yes Zwild, the wave was a lot of fun, and it was surprising to me how many people (non Vette owners) were not aware of it.

I didn't know Vette owners waved at each other. I know Jeep owners do, my wife drives one. Us old Trans Am drivers don't wave at each other, we are far to busy hanging on for dear life, lol.

Dennis, that is a sweet project. Good luck with her eh. :thumb:

I know better :laugh2:; we're going to do a total rewire. The biggest problem I had with my original TR3 was the electrical system (well, at least what the Brit's at the time were providing, I keed, my Brit mates, I keed...well, sort of :laugh2:). And this baby has been sitting in a garage for over 20+ years, so...

And good luck on finding that 240!

Well, I didn't know Jeep owners waved, so I guess it's a two way street, so to speak. And thanks for the well wishes.

I am currently selling my one owner (me) 65K miles..1975 280Z..

A Z car Buyer/Shop in Cali wants to restore. It's quite nice..many race parts. BRE, Mullholland, Recaro..

Too many sports cars and hotrods and cycles..need to get rid of some.

Beware of Lucas, Prince of Darkness

Far out, I laughed out loud when I read this one AM. Nearly sprayed Coffee all over my Keyboard. :D

Yes, beware the Price of Darkness................Lucas Electrics.

Might come down to a total rewiring job mate. :)

Fun project this one, some classic British motoring Vibe.

Good luck & keep the posts coming. :)

Very good decision. My brother bought one used in the mid 60's, isinglass and all. We had many cars through the years but I'll never forget that one. They are just so cool. Thank you for taking this project on. The car deserves it.

Wow! One thing I hadn't planned on was the amount of "kudo's" I'd get for taking on this project, but equally important, the amount of "likes" for lack of a better term for this particular car (TR3). I've always had an obvious soft spot because of my prior ownership/experience with one, but am impressed and humbled by the amount of interest and support. I hope I don't dissapoint. Thanks again to all.

Any thoughts are encouraged. As noted, we're going to upgrade the entire drive train/suspension/brakes, tires/wheels, tranny, motor, etc. Would like to retain some classic features i.e interior/guages/etc, but will more than likely go with something like Recarro seats. And a total rewire. All work being done by my former race shop/engineer so I won't be f'ing anything up LOL.

Would love some input on interior/exterior colors. I have some ideas but am torn. Thoughts?

Provided you don't paint some rice rocket neon colour, it'll wear anything well. I reckon that the admiration and appreciation you'll get on the road with the TR3 will really bowl you over.

In terms of color I think they came in red, green or white.

I want to find one and return it to bone stock, the way a car should be driven.

Edit: and I typo'ed, I meant a 71, and not a 74.
