How much are you loving your guitar? I have an opportunity to trade my SG Standard for a Brilliant Red Burst. I'm not sure on the bridge pup for Hard Rock and it has no fret binding, but everything else checks out for me.

Extremely pleased with mine, and the bridge pup is plenty hot enough for me.

^^^^Yowsa! That is the exact same guitar I was looking at. They also have the Manhattan Midnight in stock. It looks sweet, too.

Ironically it was my PRS S2 that made me start appreciating a guitar with no binding, along with some of the really nice colors Gibson is putting on them that don't make them look like partially finished Standards.
Right now on my short list for the new year is a 2014 Teal Blue Candy Studio Pro. Here's hoping that finances, availability and play-ability all line up.

Been lurking these forums for a while, figured it's time to post. Here's my studio in desert burst.

What's the difference between that and an LPJ? Pickguard and slightly buffed finish?

finish may be a little thicker on the studio?
more color options
slightly figured tops
different pick ups 490s vs 61s
modern weight relief vs traditional in the LPJ
push/pulls on the studio

i wont say one is better than the other but they are different,
or different enough for me to justify owning both:D

i want a choco LPJ so bad, hoping for some steals after Xmas:thumb:

This year's Studio also has the 60's slim-taper neck. This and the weight relief is why I would spend the extra dough on a Studio.

I'm a Les Paul fan, but an SG Standard for a 2014 Les Paul Studio and not the Studio Pro.. I wouldn't trade unless cash was being offered in the trade. I wouldn't do a trade for the Pro to the SG Standard either.

You guys are probably right, I just have the stupid GAS right now for something different. Not thinking straight. I could use some cash included in any trade, but this one doesn't pan out as I trade away my SG with OHSC for the Studio and a gigbag.

13 Studio Gold Version here, Wine red. I like the burst colors a little better usually, but I did like this guitar enough to buy it, and it plays very smooth, it's very dynamic and loud with enough growl for a dogfight. New less than 1 month ago.

I went for the deal. $1150 with case shipped to me. I did get an epliphone case, saved $50 bucks that way, would have been 1200 with Gibson case. I like my case just fine.
