I finally got my new 1x12, a local guy here in Brisbane builds them to order. It's 22W x 20H with a slant front that's 13D at the bottom and 11D at the top (kudos to Suds for the specs). :thumb:

It has a convertible back and I loaded it with a BM75 Scummie.

Very nice :dude:

Lemme know how you like the sound v dimensions, Matty. I finally got a cab guy to build me a couple more of the same (without the slant front). Also interested in what you think of the BM75 . . . I have some Blackbacks in a 4x12, but haven't really found clips that do the BM75 justice to compare with my M75 or the Blackbacks.

BTW--got in a WGS Invader today (thanks to LZF's clip), and fired her up at the studio in another oversized 1x12. Impressed so far . . . takes saturation nice 'n smooth with a good amount of chunk and clarity. Guess the best I could describe it is "even across the frequency range with nice lower-mid mojo." A/B-ed it with my trusty fave UK V-30 and a Creamback G12H-75. The V-30 is a bit better all-around, and the Creamie is powerful punchy, but IMHO the Invader is a great addition. Pairs up nicely with everything, and never sounds spikey or too bitey. A very worthy addition (thanks again, LZF if yer around). My fave WGS by far, so far . . .

I've only put a few minutes on it so far but I like what I'm hearing. It's big, bold and punchy. :thumb:

I had a 2 channel amp that Randy built for me based on 6V6 valves for power. One side was his JTM circuit, the other was his Blackface circuit. I sold it to buy a genuine Marshall Silver Jubilee. It was the worst gear transaction I have ever completed. ...........
Funny, I was thinking that was one of the best gear transactions I ever made. Rest assured, she is very happy in her adopted home. Your Duo and Tansei (Brawler #1) get easily 80% of the playing time in the basement studio. Makes me want to fire up the Snowdog when I get home, because she's been neglected lately.

Been reading a lot on the Phaez amps - thanks for all the info posted here! I was initially thinking of a SIBLY 7 to get a Led Zep tone, but have been going back and forth on the SIBLY and a Jackal. I mostly play Les Pauls (late 90s Standards) and generally play classic rock - Zep, AC/DC, some early VH. What does everyone recommend for that - SIBLY or Jackal? Currently leaning a little towards the Jackal becasue of the loop, but see a Randy can put a loop in a SIBLY.

Thanks!

I don't own a Jackal, but I can tell you a SIBLY sounds exactly what you're looking for.

I have an 18 watt SIBLY btw.

You can get either with loops, boosts, etc.

Pick your flavor...then wattage needs....then features and you should be good to go. I had my SIBLY built with everything possible including different tubes and had it made so I could make a combo out of it.

Also watch ebay and classifieds for a deal.

Thanks! Maybe I'll go SIBLY with a loop. How does the 18W sound at bedroom volumes? I'll jam with buddies now and again but don't currently gig. Just wondering if the 7W or 18W is better for my current needs? 18W may be better if i was to start gigging.

All Phaez amps have "Randy watts" and are loud as f#ck. Get one with a master which will help. I use a Badcat Unleash to cook my tubes but use it at apartment volumes.

If you think you may gig again you might as well get 15-25w and leave the door open.

BTW - not to get off topic, but how do you like your Rewind JPPPost 72 pickups? Was thinking of trying a set in a '97 Page Les Paul that I have. You can PM me if you don't want to veer the thread off Phaez...
