Your buyer may have been thrown off by the knob placement, which would have been wrong IF the guitar were MIC. As It was MIK, the placement is fine. Another thing is that he my not be aware that the rosewood boards on Epis are sometimes a bit lighter in color than the rosewood boards on other brands. Don't know where he got the idea that the guitar had plastic tuner keys, though.

Buy her a left-handed hair dryer for x-mas. :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Dude, she's female. She has more than enough hair dryers already.

As I also have two daughters, it can be difficult at times to find a free socket to plug me amp into. How the hell am I ever gonna be a rockstar with that going on?

What, you mean you don't have one of them solar-powered amps? :laugh2: :laugh2:

Don't want to derail the thread, but my girl is a lefty too. And I seem to recall reading somewhere that the guitar was actually invented by a lefty with the intent of fretting with his LEFT hand. If so, all us "righties" are doing it wrong.

Don't get me started mate.

Apparently I can't have four Les Pauls in different colours because "they're all the same really" but the missus can have several shades of eye shadow, handbags and shoes to match her ever expanding wardrobe, as long as I'm paying for it. :hmm:

Those rules don't apply to women.

Well, not all LPs that "look the same" to non-musicians are actually the same. In the Epi brand alone, there are different neck profiles, different pups, and different wood and wood combinations. All these factors make a difference in playability and tone.

I know, I'm way off topic. It is just that my girl wouldn't think about complaining about my gear acquisitions (as long as the family budget isn't wrecked). She knows that the advocation of guitar playing is a respectable, safe and fairly inexpensive advocation for a man to have. After all, we could be collecting Italian and German sports cars. The complaining women would like that much less than guitar collecting.

Or we could be collecting beautiful German and Italian women! I do not think a complaining woman would like that at all! :D

Right! And when I am in my music room playing the guitar, my girl always knows exactly where I am.

Remember, I'm in South Wales. If I had a solar-powered amp I'd get to play about twice a year for about five minutes at a time.

Ha! I feel for you mate. I'm so lucky that Sam The Unbeliever is firmly 'on my side' when it comes to guitars. She cares not how many I have and actively encourages all and any prospective purchases.

A perfect example is that Green Burst in the other thread - Sam bought me my Trad Pro for my birthday in September yet when I told her I was thinking about bidding on the Green Burst she said "oooh, I like that one" and was planning where on the wall it would go best to fit in with all the other colours.

I guess we are lucky guys. My girl bought me a custom built amp for my birthday/Christmas present (both holidays come about the same time, though my present came a bit early in the year). I just don't understand those women who don't like their guys to play guitar and acquire guitars and related gear. Music is such a clean, respectable, safe, and relatively inexpensive advocation. Much more so than collecting Italian and German sports cars (as I said) or collecting Italian and German women (as Barcham said).

I guess I derailed this thread (which I did not really intend to do). I talked to my girl about the "guitar jealousy" that some women apparently have, and she couldn't understand it either. She related that I told her I was a guitar guy when I first met her, and she thought that was rather good -- to hook up with a musician rather than some of the other things guys are in to. My ex resented me playing. That is one of the reasons she has been my ex for 35 wonderful years.

What we have here, I think, is a failure to communicate -- from the start -- between a guy and a girl. Each should be told of the others interests from the start. If they are not acceptable, it's time to move on.

Sorry, this has nothing to do with fake Epis. I'll just leave that up to you.

I'll shut up by saying that I have visited Wales and found it to be a beautiful place. But I do wish the sun would shine a bit more there. And there is no such thing as a solar powered amp.

You don't have much experience with photographing and lights ?

I don't profess to be a photographer, even so... unless those images were heavily edited then there's no way the colour could change so drastically. The redness of the guitar is what brought it to my attention when scrolling through the listings.

I don't know why you're quizzing me, it's 100% fake.

We both know it.

Feel free to stick a bid on it if you're feeling optimistic.

I think I'll wait for an actual Epi Verification Expert to confirm its authenticity. :slash:

I don't see anything wrong with that one either. I'll never use the colour of a picture as a factor because cell phones can be terrible for colour quality. The same thing with lens distortion making a headstock look too long. If you look at the close-up shot of the back of the headstock, I'd say that's more of an accurate colour for the entire guitar.
