Nothing wrong with the inlay really, but maybe there should be a choice.

IMO having commemorative things on guitars is fine. Just don't put them where they can't be hid, changed or replaced easily.

Not everyone wants a permanent anniversary inlay and to do that on every 2014 USA Gibson is silly IMO.

Why not just put it on the back of the headstock, truss rod cover, pickguard cover, etc... Those things can be replaced if not liked by certain consumers.

IMO Gibson has made a poor decision here since this inlay has made it a "NO BUY" in 2014 for those consumers that don't like the inlay.

The no nibs with fretboard binding is another thing a lot will look at as Gibson going cheaper yet prices are not cheaper. Both these changes will cost Gibson a lot of sales in 2014 IMO.

I don't have a problem with the inlay.
The book-match isn't all there though.
Doesn't match at all.

I dont like the inlay, but with no nibs, maybe the inlay is gonna be the hardest part to fake.

Not my cup of tea for two reasons. Not a fan of quilt top, and I personally don't like the inlay. But I wouldn't say the guitar is ruined. Different strokes.

Eh. Looks like an epi photo flame. Not digging it, and I sure as hell don't dig the inlay.

See if they'll knock a $1000 off for the graffiti.

But...but...they'll only have them like that for a year! That makes it a future collector's item! More collectors than musicians buy Les Pauls, right?

...right?

Maybe if you started like 4 more threads on this, everybody would change their minds. The other threads you started on this dead horse didn't quite sink in.
