Question for the J D M guys: possible JDM on the local cl. Do they have a three screw tr cover? What kind of case says: Epiphone quality since 1970? And did they produce an almost perfect flame match burst? It almost looks to be photo flame? Not tech wavy enough to provide a link or post pics. Gulfport ms. Cl guys asking $350. If this proved out, what are the values on these? Btw it's a standard. I'll work on a link when I get home. Thanks

What kind of headstock? If it's 'openbook' JDM, it will have a 2 screw Gibson style TRC. Chances are good that it's an early Korean model with the slim openbook headstock with either a sticker s/n or none at all because the sticker fell off.

Still a decent buy, IMHO. Beautiful looking Epi!

Now I did come across this weird duck on eBay...

Seller really doesn't know where it was made if you read the text of the ad. And I've never seen a MiK without bridge bushings in the body.

And not all guitars made for the JDM are made in Japan. :naughty:

Yamano-Gakki :slap:

Here's an odd bird! It's one of those special edition 1994 Epiphone Les Pauls that were made in Japan I think (?) but without the open book headstock. These usually have a single bolt visible from the outside whereas this one, albeit a set neck guitar, has the two bolts securing the neck to the body via the long neck tenon (similar to late 1970s Burny or Aria production). These were sold as cheaper MIJ guitars in Japan back then

No snipers. Its $349 BIN and will be a tough sell. Its Japanese, but its a budget guitar. This one is just an odd bird that for some reason they made a bolt/set neck hybrid. Probably ran out of screws that day :laugh2:.

Well this hybrid isn't so rare! The same seller had a MIJ Epi LP Custom, a couple of weeks ago, with the same two bolt tennon and the MIK/MIC shape headstock! Maybe this special run of Epis came out before the Orvilles turn to Epis in 1998 :hmm:! I'll try to find some info!
