Well, I have been waiting patiently (sort of) for my new guitar to show up. I get home last night and the notice was on my door stating that the attempted to deliver at 9:45am. Doh! I called up FedEx and the woman took my number to call me as soon as the truck arrived back at the hub. Finally at 6:30 I got the call. I instantly hopped in my car and drove the 15 miles to the location and picked up the box.
It was the longest ride home in a while! I wasted no time opening it. I actually pulled it out of the car and popped it open in the driveway. Inside waited a gem.
I ordered this beautiful Daylighter Standerd from Doug over at Kauer Guitars when he had a sale to repair his CNC machine. I couldnt be happier with my decision. He left the finish color up to me an we settled on an iced tea burst that I think looks killer. This guitar is so acoustically resonant its not even funny. It actually rings louder than my Gretsch which is semi hollow. The finish work is spot on and the wood binding is just gorgeous. After playing it for a few hours after only a small tweak of the truss rod (it came from Cali and I am in PA) I can see why he has been getting rave reviews. His attention to detail, customer service, and wood/parts selection are all top notch. Right now my only complaint is that I don't have enough money for another one. Thanks Doug!
As for the amp, I was at the local GC (I know I know, I like to see what used stuff pops up from time to time) I came across a used Orange Micro Terror. What a cool little amp. At $100 bucks I had to grab it. It is a little fizzy at very low volumes but I am very impressed with it so far. I will be taking it to my next practice to push a 4x12 and see how it sounds. I was running it through a Mesa 2x12 at home.
