I like the texture you got there, did you use a torch?

Fire bad! :D I used a wire brush and a steel scouring pad, and treated it with iron acetate for the grey/brown "aging". Oh yeah, and a couple of days of sanding in between :)

What wood is it made out of, roffle?

The look reminds me of an old backyard shed door.

This is made from an old pine 2x8. The guitar weighs in at just over 2800 grams (6 lbs.) total so it's very lightweight and resonant. I'm extremely happy with the result :) I tried to make it look like some old floorboards in my house (from 1867) and I think I got pretty close...

Just got this one wired up yesterday. Still have to set it up properly and put on the finishing touches (TRC, strap buttons). And I finally got a hold of some PRS 57/08 pups that she's sporting. Enjoy.

I use Tonepros exclusively when it comes to wraparounds. For no particular reason other than I haven't found anything wrong with them. :thumb:

Just recovered some 100 year old pine from a barn that was being torn down. It's doing to be at least one Barncaster and a Barn Lester.

For more texture, I may sandblast the wood. It eats into the softer grains, leaving the harder stuff.

I have a couple of 100+ year old 3x9"s from an old house in the neighborhood. I have to shave off a lot to get to the good wood, but I think I can get something useful out of them :)

There's guitar builders and then there's Jack Briggs. What a gem, Jack. Coolest picture is the last one with the spider eye effect of the tuners catching the man behind all that win.

That is one of the most stunning guitars i've ever seen. Wow.

Yes, that is extremely nice. This is what it looks like when you take several weeks to do the finish. Patience has its rewards.
