All the negative people who want to play their cards...why don't you just skip this thread and wait until something happens down the road? If something happens down the road, then by all means, if it makes you feel better, post your "I told you so thread".

For the time being...since you are all giving advice...here's a piece for you: STFU.

...and have a swell day.

It's a public forum with different opinions. Deal with it. :laugh2: :D

You want to send money to him? Good luck. I hope you're doing the right thing.

In this day and age it's prudent to be careful. However, if you followed this thread you'd know that contact details for the GC people involved in this has been published in this thread. Why not give them a call to verify whether or not this is all true, and then publish your findings here?

Not at all...

...just that the decisions have been made and it is a thread that is supposed to be full of hope and well wishes not a rain on your parade thread with advice from all of you doctors.

All of you with all of that experience didn't get that part that people are different and every addiction case is not the same & people's reactions aren't always the same.

Wow...gurus.

That doesn't mean that those who disagree are wrong to offer their opinions ... which were more parental than medical, anyway.

And just to draw the point fairly, the thread isn't supposed to be about hope and well-wishes either, no matter that those sentiments feel good. Brit's OP simply broke the news of the theft.

"STFU" rarely adds anything to any conversation.

I don't have a problem with different opinions.

I just wonder why people choose to be negative when it doesn't serve a purpose.

It adds as much as people recounting their tales essentially saying that he is wrong in the choice that he has made.

Anyway...that's it. The people who want to rain will continue to rain...I'll wish the best to Brit and step out.

How would GC know for sure without proof which I have yet to see?
I'm not saying the story here is a lie I'm just sayin'

I could call the manager and hear how they've been bombarded with emails and phone calls about this guitar and situation, but what purpose would that serve?

I've no idea if the guitars were actually stolen in the first place. I'm sure Hot Brit has owned the guitars before, but unless he can prove they were stolen and acts accordingly, I can't get behind it 100%. I've been burned before on this very forum. Many others have as well.

Hell, HB kept "discovering" guitars that had gone missing, including his supposed #1?

Send your money if you wish, fellas. I'm not going to join. However, I do hope things get resolved for Hot Brit and his family, particularly that his son get clean and move toward a positive future.

Well, I think there's valuable discussion to be had in how to handle these sorts of things.

I've already spoken my piece and have no interest in pushing my own views any more; I recognize that you're right, the decision has been made and that is that; but as the father of a fifteen-year-old, seeing how different people have handled addiction issues is useful to me. "STFU", on the other hand, tamps down those posts that can be helpful as well as those posts which are critical.

I appreciate the guts it took for Brit to open such a personal discussion. It's given me much food for thought.

I couldn't agree more.
I have pictures and receipts of guitars I no longer own that weren't stolen. So pics a receipts from someone I know nothing about mean nothing IMHO.
Show me a police report and I'll help any way I can.

Brit, this is awesome news! I hope everything works out smoothly. I am, however, appalled at some of the forum members accusations and comments... like you really need more drama in your life right now. God bless!

The sceptics make valid points, but personally I do not wish to go through life being cynical and mistrusting. HB hasn't asked anyone for money.

I have not asked for any ones money!
I will pay for my guitars with my credit card, then will sell some of my other gear to pay of my credit card later, I don't want any one to make a donation

Here in America, there are things called honesty and integrity. GC is not legally obligated but morally obligated.

I am an American. I don't feel they are obligated, and that is just my opinion. I do hope that he is able to get it back, that is if everything he is saying is true.

when this incident occurred I was in shock and also I have a large guitar collection that I have been collecting for over 20 years so this is the reason I did not notice all the guitars missing right a way, but your saying I did not notice right a way that my 56 Custom was missing? now that simply is not true

Well, I've had a difficult time keeping up with the saga given all the various threads that have been created about it...

I guess I can understand that you keep guitars stored in cases and didn't immediately realize they were missing from them if you seldom rotate them out. I guess I'm just surprised at the whole scenario.

But it is what it is. I'm glad you're content with how things are moving forward.

I've got guitars that I haven't seen in months, some for years. I wouldn't notice right away if they were stolen.

I was not well at first, I had resigned myself to loosing my guitars, I'm thankful that I now have the chance to buy back my 56 Custom from guitar center

HB is not a newbie here who just joined and created this thread and asking us for money. He is a long time member and just needed some support and wanted us to look out for his stolen guitars. It was us that wanted to help out after following this thread and were touched by his actions. Also HB is not asking GC to give back his guitar but he just wants to buy it back.

Earlier today, I posted asking HB if he could give out his paypal email address for those who wanted to help out financially but he never responded or PMed me. He doesn't want any donations from us. He want to pay with his money. That tells me that he is a stand up guy who takes personal responsibilities so for those were thinking this is some kind of scam, shame on you!

Hope everything will work out for HB.
