That guitar is looking great, Roman.

I think people don't comment on your work all the time because the quality is a given around here.

But nonetheless - nice work.

Thanks, I am just in an overworked / underpaid pissy ass mood today.:)
When people are in the shop "offering suggestions" I'm worse.:laugh2:

I hand them the tools, and say good, I'm going out for some coffee, you do it.

My "generous offer" is always declined:laugh2:

I usually refer to such people who stand around and more or less do nothing as 'Limp Dicked Advisors' or, as the LDA for short, I'll just keep referring them to do stuff, like 'Let the LDA handle that toilet cleaning Jon' when they ask what or who the LDA is, tell them THEY are the LDA and if they ask what it stands for...wait until they're done with whatever menial task you can find and then tell them. If you can take a picture of the face at the time it's good for a laugh for several years.

Edit - Axe looks great Roman, thanks for the work and the pics.

I can relate. I had a day like that on Wednesday.

When people are in the shop "offering suggestions" I'm worse.:laugh2:

I hand them the tools, and say good, I'm going out for some coffee, you do it.

My "generous offer" is always declined:laugh2:

Like my dad used to say - 'Leave the tools to those who know how to use them.'

And take the weekend off, dude!

Still think it would look nice with a wraptail. Valid suggestion, i'm not telling you how to crown the frets, or buff the finish.

Constructive criticism, thats all. Is no one allowed to comment?
Either way its all good, no need to get angry.
I didn't mean to offend.

However that very reaction is what this forum slags the other place for.

I bought a ticket, I think its a cool thing, sorry for "thinking out loud"

I think the point of this thread is just for us to see the "magic in the making," not to have any input about it.

I cannot please everyone, nor will I try to. I am building a fucking free guitar, that some one could win for as little as a dollar.

I am sure people will have their 2 cent to throw in on anything I do.

It is funny, since my posts of last night, No One has commented on the work that has been done or validated THAT in any way, but telling me how I should do it, is easy and in fashion.

Reminds me of the old saying " Some people would bitch if you hung them with a new rope".
I wouldn't care if it was pink with Hello Kitty on it, well maybe. The thing is this raffle gives me the chance to own a guitar of this quality, that there's no way in hell I could afford to buy. I'd be damn happy, anyway Roman wants to build it you can be sure it will kick ass.

I just spent twenty minutes reading this thread front to back. Roman, un-believable...killer work, and what a gesture. Double thanks for actually taking the time to DOCUMENT the process along the way. Sick...:thumb:

Everyone else, buy more tickets. This guitar is gonna be nuts. :wow:

I agree, it would look nice with a wraptail. However in consulting with others involved with this project it was decided seeing how this was a Rist guitar it should have a set of my custom machined bridge and tailpiece.

I personally think "constructive criticism" is a misnomer. Criticism
is just that, Criticism.

Sure, people can comment. but this thread is not one on Projectguitar.com, where everyone talks about how it could be done, should be done etc.

I am, at my own expense, providing a service for MLP in the form of doing a fundraiser to offset forum costs.

Everyone that has said a forum can be run on a shoestring is gone, and their forums are no more.
Forums cost money, and I am doing my part to keep this forum here.

My contribution is in the form of building a guitar. While it is a form of publicity for myself. I am not making one penny off of it.

Myself and all others involved are donating our time and materials, not to mention the collective experience.

The thread is the documentation of what is being built. and the builder/builders retain sole rights to how it is designed, built, etc.

In other words this is not a commissioned piece.

I am just showing what is being done.:)

Besides, I have seen some of your work and projects. It's very good stuff. I am sure you'd get a bit annoyed if others threw in their criticism as well.

Either way its all good, no need to get angry.
I didn't mean to offend.

I'm not angry, just got a bit annoyed. besides the building, documentation takes time as well. Last night I spent quite a bit of my time, that I could have been spending in my private life, uploading pictures and typing.

I come back to 2 responses of how I "should be doing it" while the work that got uploaded went seemingly unnoticed.
So I get a bit miffed. BFD.

If your wife or mother spent all day making a stew for you. For you to say nothing about the wonderful meal she made, yet throw in the "constructive criticism" of how you wish she had put in some carrots, they might be miffed too.

Anyway, no big deal. I'm not offended. I'm just communicating.:)

Don't bring that into it, we're all cool here.

I bought a ticket, I think its a cool thing, sorry for "thinking out loud"

Just one? buy more. it is a cool thing:thumb:

cheers,
Roman

Very nice work, Roman

Thanks for going these extra miles for the forum...you don't see that very often

I really look forward to seeing the progress and the process each time I tune in

This thread is in my favorites and is the first one I check when coming to the MLP

One question...above the 12th fret it looks like some masking tape hiding something

What's up with that?

Thanks again

Kevin

Thank you:)
The tape is hiding nothing, there was to be a fancy 12th fret inlay but that didn't work out.
the tape is just to hold the board till it is glued:laugh2:
