I like rosewood, for asthetics. You shouldn't really feel the fretboard under the note(s) you're fretting. Ever play a scalloped neck?

Nu-UH!

When I do a faux-steel full step "G" bend I have to trap that string down hard and bend the bejesus out of it.

Maple is definitely slicker to do that on.:dude:

Rosewood on Les Pauls, maple on Fenders. It is that simple. (Ebony on Les Paul Customs) Actually I prefer ebony.

I s'pose you're right.

I can't get into my Spandex anymore either. And there sure wouldn't be any room for the cucumber even if I could!:)

Maple develops that cool 'used' look after a few years of usage. But rosewood always feels better on the fingertips, imo.

Not a major deal but given the option I'd go with a rosewood fretboard. I just like the way it feels, a little more of an organic feel to me than a maple fretboard.

I like both. I used to believe that junk about maple sounding "brighter", until I bought nearly identical super strats, except for the difference in fretboard wood. They still sound about the same to me.

So both. I like both. No difference in feel or sound as far as I can tell.

depends on the guitar for me. On Super strats I prefer maple and ebony. On LP Standards I like rosewood and ebony on the LPC's.

I voted Rats Ass simply because I own all three (ebony, rosewood, and maple) and I have absolutely no problem playing any of them.

I have Les Pauls with Baked Maple, Ebony and Rosewood. I prefer the playability of the Ebony but frankly all three are fine with me.

On my Fenders, I have Rosewood and finished Maple and prefer the finished Maple as in my Strat Plus Deluxe. It's simply a really fast neck and plays great.

All of them are fine.
