And the serial seems to date it as a 1980 model

It could be a 2 or 3 piece back.... anything happened in those days.... I have had EGF-1200's with 3 piece backs..... I am purely looking at the 3 piece top and logo without knowing what the pickup are, to come up with the model.

It is a Super Real as it says so on the headstock, although in the 1980 catalog it is called a Super Power. It is the budget version EG-500. Three piece top. Can't tell how many pieces to the back as it is dark. Probably a dowel tenon. Maxon U-1000 pickups. This one is solid body. Here's the seller's response to my inquiry about the weight of the guitar - " Hi, super real's weigh real LP weight, 10.5 lbs., thanks". That's a boat anchor IMO.
