The owls are not what they seem?

HOO! isn't HOO!

er, sorry, who isn't who? Apparently, I'm not me.

I've always enjoyed the works of Philip K. Dick, but I sure don't fancy being the protagonist in one of his novellas

(Frigg, I'm OCD too. Gotta make it to 150)

I visited England as a child. Beautiful place. I don't remember much, outside of seeing Tron at the theatre. Oh, and the wax museum. And Big Ben(of course)

Londons changed a bit since then poncho..:laugh2:

Tried to catch up on the last few days..Pheww..Some heavy reading and debates about art.

My post above wes simply my personal view and not based on anyones posts in here, so no biasness as I posted my reply, before I read back..:dude:

Jesus am I diplomatic or what?:laugh2:

Art..Artists?

The big problem is that one can debate and philosophize over this one till the cows come home..

Perhaps even the art itself creates the artist..

Hi Poncho,
Just back from the big smoke ( London ).
My wife and I had a weekend with our eldest son, his missus and our grandson..
Jesus that liitle fella has some energy..
kept asking me to build a bridge with wooden blocks, but every time I nearly had it finished he'd ram it with a toy car, knock it over and shout.. "More bridge Grandpapa".

:laugh2:

These days, my wife and I much prefer going up by train than driving.. Too many roundabouts, signs and parking restrictions etc etc.. Much easier to get a nice double seat with a table on the train. Watch the world go by and get a coffee from the guy who wheels the food trolley around.

I've taken a couple of long train rides here, and so long as I'm not in a rush it's the ideal way to travel for me. Memphis to LA, via New Orleans, and this last summer LA to Austin. Not to mention a few jaunts up the West Coast over the years.

Still confused.:hmm:
So are you catching s**t on other threads? Everyone here has been more than civil.

Yes, he's getting shit from others in other threads, because he was decent to BPC.

I'd love to cross America by train, but the last time we were there, it was about twice as expensive as flying.
Mind you, those are some distances you have to travel over there..

From the shire to London is about three hours by train.

Do you still have those fantastic observation cars over there you had on 50's trains? I had a model train with coaches like these. I bet a ticket for one of those costs a pretty penny.

Who's BPC?

Once again, the importance of the atmosphere of congeniality we've cultivated here is underscored. Jeezus!
Be proud gents.

If you don't know of him, you're not missing anything. Suffice it to say that I'm convinced that it's just more MLP bullshit.

My grandsons do the exact same thing. Boys love to bash things, it's true. :D

The train ride sounds very pleasant. The last train experience I had was in the early '60s. To Washington D.C. It was great. Sleeper rooms, dining cars. Fun! Not too much of that in Kentucky now. Freight mainly. Interstates make travel pretty easy. And I don't have occasion to go to large cities any more.

seems theres still some shell shock going round
seen a bit of your wanderings myself last night Poncho
kept your cool quite nicely
its hard sometimes to be perceived as something negative when your not
by others
take my advice dont fade away you have friends here
youll do alright

phil if it werent for trains in france impressionism wouldnt have been so broad of subject matter
another tool as it were for recording a day

impressionism for us isnt so much art as its a science of the eye and brain working together to an end a progression
couple that with exploring new tools and transportation improvements
"art is the box that either lets you in or doesnt to label you
many things the "art establishment" calls for as right are not required(black)(form over color)etc.
many unacceptable techniques and subject matter(gleaners, water lilies, visible brush strokes)the establishment says arent acceptable thrive and can be attained
no other way

Just be glad you gents don't have a National Election coming up. Arrrgh!!
I made the mistake of getting sucked in to the "Sanctioned" election thread. Yuck. Now I feel so dirty. I have to come here to get a breath of fresh air. I'll be glad when it's over (maybe).
