The best of it is, I'm a trained cabinet maker so working on it would have been easy. Same goes for the finish, sprayed or French polished... Problem was I had no gear here to do it.
I also had another problem early on that nearly caused the whole lot to be launched out of the window!!! When I was removing the neck PU, the driver slipped and f****d the winding up.... I'm sure I'm not the first or last to do it!!!
So that was it, a rough body, destroyed PU and no tools. After thinking it over I thought I might as well try and get it playable with the least amount of work and probably move it on.
So I found a nice body, got the pickup rewound and much to my surprise it turned out amazingly good.
When I return to England next year, I'll see about putting my skills back to use on a new project
