Hey a few years ago when I started playing guitar I bought an Epiphone Les Paul Gothic guitar played it for a short while before I moved on to other guitars mainly ESP's and I recently I started to think about buying a new les paul but since this guitar still sounds good and hasn't got a scratch on it I figured what the hell I might as well customize it. I want to put a Bigsby B-7 on it take off the pick guard and I can not decide what pick ups I want so here is the question What pick ups should I put in the bridge and the neck?

I have used Emgs many times and they are not what I am looking for basically I want a good rock tone that is versatile so that I can play everything from blues to rock to punk to metal any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

I have been looking into P90's and I don't know much about them but I hear they give a terrible buzz I really just want this guitar to sound the best as it can

I recommend the Rio Grande Texas BBQ set myself. I have them in an Epi LP and I LOVE them. They are what Tony Rombola from Godsmack uses. They will also do any style of music out there, especially if you do the coil-split.

Yeah they sound really good but would I be better off getting the more expensive SHPR-1-P rail set?

Don't know much about them but they seem cool. I'm not that much of a P90 fan myself mainly because I play Hard Rock or Metal. P90's can do metal with the right amp and settings, but I like my humbuckers.

It really depends on what you want to play the most. If you play across the board evenly, I seriously recommend the Rio Grande's. The bridge is 12.5k output, which isn't a lot for metal compared to other pickups used. They cleanup real nice, and with the BBQ neck, man, the cleans are unbeatable.

But if you are dead set on P90's, then those P-rails should do the trick just fine. The design will take out the noise that P90's are known for. I'm sure you will still have to do the push/pull pots to go between the P90 and single-coil, but seymourduncan.com should have the wiring diagram needed.

You can always drop a set of SD Phat Cats in. P-90's that fit a guitar routed for humbuckers. You can mix and match also, one humbucker, one Phat Cat.

Thanks for the advice another thing I was wondering is what pickup covers would fit over the duncans?

I was gonna suggest the Seymour Duncan SPH90-1 Phat Cat P90's also.
