Rock and Roll meets avant-garde: I can live with that.

I bought the Plastic Ono Band's Live Peace in Toronto 1969, shortly after its release, purely because Clapton adorned side one, but found side two something of an eye-opener. It introduced me to other approaches to music and art. In my book never a bad thing.

Do you think, for one minute, Chuck Berry would have done this if he didn't like the idea?

honestly, yes. i'm sure the money was right and he had a deep respect for john lennon. his career wasn't exactly smokin' at this point either. but who really knows? i give chuck some credit for doing something different from his regular thing. he was/is notoriously stubborn and hard headed. that being said, i can totally dig on some avaunt-garde rock. i love most of lou reed & velvet undergrounds more "out there" stuff.
