Great looking guitar. If it were not in some country other than the USA (so I'd be eaten up by shipping costs), I'd buy it!

yea it was the first time purchasing a guitar over ebay or even online and what stopped me from doing so is that the shipping is always sooooo expensive and the facter of it being possibly being fake (well got the resolved) but it only costed me $38 for shipping which i didnt find expensive at all to be shipping a guitar

The $38 is very reasonable. From the wording in the ad, I assume that the guitar is in France or some other French-speaking country. Unfortunately, I speak, read, and write only in English -- and not very well at that.

Hey, been to Quebec and other parts of Canada and loved it all. Yeah, I hear those Canadian duties to import goods from the USA are way high. You got a good deal, IMO

Hey, that's great! In all the mess, I didn't notice that davies was promoted to VIP also! Congrats mate! No one deserves it more!

Thanks for the nice words, GNR. We do what we can and are just following the lead of yourself and Sin who got this thing going years ago.

This is my first post/thread and I hope I'm doing it right, if not please forgive me, but I need some help please.

I bought the following guitar on eBay last month before knowing about this thread. I corresponded with the guy who sold it to me prior to purchasing it. He claimed it originally belonged to his guitar instructor, he bought it from him, and didn't know much about it. The tuners were at some point replaced with locking Grovers. I paid $475 for it which included shipping and an old beat up Epi case.

The guitar feels heavy (weighs 9 lbs), has decent sustain, great tone, surprisingly no fret buzz with the action set very low, plays easier than any Epi I've ever tried, and it is in excellent condition. However I found 8 highly suspect problems with it, which I've made detailed notes about, but seems like the first post in this thread says "don't post" those things? Some of those 8 things can be seen in the pics and some can't. I will be happy to correspond privately with a Senior Member or Epi Verification Expert about that list, and the things that can't be seen, if I'm not allowed to post them. I'm hoping someone can tell me if this guitar is fake or not.

Here's an eBay link to see pics and info the seller put in his listing...

Gibson Epiphone Les Paul Custom Guitar Cream w/ Upgrades & Case Randy Rhoads | eBay

If the link above doesn't work try using the normal eBay search with listing ID # 280879920590 or using advanced search then checking completed listings and pasting in that number.

Below are some pics I took. You can click on each and they will open a link to Imgbox where they will be enlarged...

I sincerely appreciate any help you guys can provide and advice on what to do about the eBay seller or contacting eBay if it's fake. The guy I bought it from has a history of 757 eBay feedback transactions and a 100% rating, so if it's fake maybe I still have a chance of recourse. Thanks

It's not fake, it's a perfectly genuine MiK, Saein plant, made Custom. I do think it was a bit overpriced but with shipping included and a case you could have done worse. Nothing to worry about though, she's fine. Don't forget that your guitar is made in Korea and the points made in the first post of the thread deal only with made in China guitars. That may explain some of the differences you feel you have noticed.
