the old tuners are worn out bad enough to hardly get the guitar in tune, much less stay in tune. the grover deluxes are awesome tuners, but i'll have to drill to make them fit.

keep in mind. i'm never selling this guitar unless it becomes worth over like 20k... haha.

what would you do? i think the decision is obvious.

realistically speaking, by the time anyone reads this the holes will be drilled, and the grovers will be installed.

Pictures? Not the '71 Deluxe?!? I would not have drilled. I would have found tuners that would have fit. But I'm kind of a "museum collector"...

i dont think norlins will ever be worth enough to live with shitty tuners. i love the grover deluxes. if i ever end up putting the old ones back in, i'll just sleeve them. you wont be able to see it.

:applause:

I wouldn't worry too much about resale value. The most expensive 335 ever auctioned (Clapton's '64 ES-335) was retrofitted with Grovers. Enjoy the improved tuning! :naughty:

It's such a common mod to have become an almost "cult" situation. Do't worry about it.:thumb:
