Joining MLP has changed my life. Whenever I spend much time here learning everything you never wanted to know about guitars, she's discovered a new game to try and distract me. This involves plenty of flashing and nudity.

Thanks for all the likes and kind words, gents. I do appreciate it. But it's kind of a sad commentary that someone that stands by their word is considered a mensch. I hope it is true for all of you here - Man or woman. It should never be the exception. Honor and integrity are easier to adopt and live by than say quitting smoking.

Been married 23 years, actually, so less the of the snidey stuff. It's all very well being noble about it, but humans have sexual urges; they are natural, and in the main healthy. Unless one has a very low sex drive a life of denial may be frustrating, and, as a counsellor once told me, if you aren't good to yourself you won't be good towards others.

Not everyone commits the same vow of "death do us part" etc. Not saying anyone should go out and cheat or even if its my biz (cause its not) but for the amount of shit I got from my ex who still to the last last time we spoke is convinced I was having an affair (which tells me she was getting dick somewhere) that i should have.

This sanctity of marriage bs is just that bs, its a construct rich people had made to keep their wives in check. There is a reason why a man in a lot of cases will compete sexual over a pregnant woman or the reason porn works. Some chick is getting sex from another man our response is "oh no she is going to pass my genes on"

The only reason we would have this response is because the one on one until the worms is chasing us is against our nature and totally about the church.

There is not one married guy in the world that wouldnt want to get strange (and a lot of wives also) its our nature.

A big part of Darwin's theory that people seem to miss is that a species survival is highly dependent upon it's ability to adapt. For my wife and I, we had to adapt. Simple. I was 40 when I got married. It took me that long to find her. Neither of us settled.

Well, everybody has a different experience and perspective. For me, it works and it works in spades. She has her career and I have mine. If I want to buy something, I buy it. Same for her. We do not exchange gifts on any holidays though I will admit to having given her some things on those days just because it was something I knew she wanted but would not buy.

She is an integral part of my life. She plays keyboards in my jam band. She arranged the living room like this:

We are a very happy couple - Have been for 20 years. It's not perfect. No relationship is. But it is more perfect than any I had had prior to her. I have friends that are divorced and went through personal hells that I do not envy. I chose to wait and find the right one. I got lucky.

Ham, I agree with you. I posted here a long time ago that it is in a mans genetics to spread his seed. We need to procreate. It's how we are wired.
