ive got a few question:
is it even real in the first place?
its resale value in the market with its current condition
(it has a cracked neck that has been fixed)
the stock pickups of an 89 standard?

and whats the neck profile.

It's real! The tuners have been changed, but other than that it looks original. It has a '59 rounded profile. Probably 490r/498t pups. Nice guitar.

Welcome!

Looks pretty legit to me. Not sure if those pups are original, some guys might chime in but I'm guessing you'd have to take them out and read the bottoms to see. Apart from that, looks like a real player. The crack in the neck will hurt resale quite a bit (I recently tried to sell a Dobro with a repaired crack in the neck with no luck), but if you like it, why would you sell it? Then again, do you like it?

Tell us about it man! Seems like it's got some history to it.

That's cool, so I'm guessing you haven't had it very long. IMO $1200 is a bit steep for a guitar with a cracked neck, but honestly, it's all about the feel of the guitar. If she does it for you, what does the money matter, right? :dude:

haha yeah. havent had it for very long
i actually got it because my previous epi lespaul dropped after a rehearsal and its headstock shattered because of a loose strap :( so not bringing this gibson out til i get back the confidence and some good strap locks!
yeahh u got that. im pretty sure the value of a gibson will rise over the years anw

Hey man, Nice.I've got an '89 standard as well. Ebony. Your Gibson headstock logo is the same as mine with the n connecting on top and the bit weird looking s. Mine is serial 81379559 Just about a month older then yours :) If you've got the stock pickups they must be the print plate back "the original's" Still thinking about changing them but an aluminum tailpiece and rs kit made a huge difference already. Also got a tone pros bridge on it cause the original bridge was bended. You can see it on the picture if you look closely.
I really like the neck shape on mine. weighs in about 9,1 pounds

Yep I have a '90 Standard I bought new at the time, looks very similar, logo wise and all that. On mine a fair bit of the edge binding started to crack around the edge a few years later, dunno if that was a plastics issue at one time

Mines 91000505 so seems to stack up right S/N wise.

Here's the thumbnail link to a larger pic in the gallery.

Anyhow, lovely player and rock solid, well made guitar. My pickups are 490R/498T.

"The original" will be stamped on the circuit board on the back of the pickups. Can't find pics of it.
How are those tuners? Mine still has the deluxe snotgreen tuners and they hold up really well even though they're almost twenty years old.
