You installed some of them Ace Frehley pups in yer Epi huh????? do they come with rechargeable smoke packs???? Kidding man... The Epi I posted pics of plays and sounds better than the real 2003 Gibby standard I used to have... I got my eyes peeled for any more just like it.. mine has a few nicks from real stage use.. But that makes me want to play it more and polish it less....Thanks for replying man!

Looks like a great buy!

I have a 91 Korean Epi that is similar. Three piece back, veneer top - some sort of alder or low grade mahogany. Three piece neck, very slim. Trans (or medium) tenon. Acoustically very resonant, not as much as a MIJ or Gibson, but superior to many guitars I've played. Extremely heavy!

This guitar was very average stock until I upgraded the pickups/caps/etc. Now, the difference in tone plugged in between this and my MIJ or even a Gibson is very small unless you had a highly trained ear. Of course the construction/materials/finish etc. isn't on par with a higher end instrument, but it's a fantastic guitar for what it is.

I'm sure you'll enjoy yours when it arrives!

My Korean Les Paul 1995 and I've changed it a bit ;-)

Made it a bit like a Murphy Aged Les Paul :slash:

I got another 89 for the Forums approval.MIK 89 Standard I think....I bought a plastic Gibson hardcase for my SG for 100 dollars off Craigslist.... He threw in the guitar... I told him wherever he lived in Omaha I would be there in 10 minutes.. I started modding as soon as it came home due to an awful lot of noise. (Input jack was reversed). I added very early patent pending Dimarzio PAFs, CTS pots and Orange drops, added all switchcraft and braided conductors, drilled out a new Gibson bridge, and added some older Grovers.. (I kept all the original stuff of course) It looks like it is a one piece Mahogany back. It really plays incredible!! It gets raves from fellow musicians too... Some times a guy actually gets a break huh? I probably should of cleaned it before the pics though....

Hey, man, I just picked up an 89 or 90 (not sure) Epi Les Paul that looks exactly like yours here, and my serial number is in the 904k range. My serial number sticker looks just like yours, no factory prefix. Have you found out much about where it was made, etc?

Got a 89' I'm working on now. This Forum has been the best place for info.
That is a gorgeous back on that guitar above. Mine isn't as nice but these guitars play like dream. I'd love to buy another.

as a former owner of a MIK LPC, I can vouch that it's a great guitar--I had one of the last ones that had a darkened rosewood look to it--and even though it was a MF Factory second, it was a pretty sweet-playing/sounding guitar--well, now it's since replaced by my Elite LPC, LOL!!

Jody: your Custom ROCKS!! looks like a hi-performance rock machine with that look!!!

AFAIK the only place that made Epi Les Pauls at that time was the Samick plant in Korea

Very nice--what kind of tuners are those? Big difference from the stock tuners?

I have had this white custom for about a year, simply love it. I would put up against any guitar ever. Pick guard came off and added reflector knobs, had a seymour duncan invader in bridge already, the black one I picked up about two weeks ago for $300, neck pick up sounds great, but bridge is muddy. These are great guitars. Both are 89 models I believe.

I owned one in the early 90's, think it was around mid to late 80's model-sounded great and was well built -wish I would have held onto it.
