Why does it usually appear to me that most men are brow beaten and wives seem to believe they are moms and in charge of their "adult child" I dont get this.

My house is neater more organized without my wife. My finances are in ruin from her, and I did most of the cooking. So, my question is, is this because of generation, or just the way it becomes?

You're missing another possibility here, Ham.

Which is?

Just the stereotype is the chick is all squared away and some women live it. I see it in the mall all the time makes me cringe

Tell us about your wife... Perhaps I can give you a diagnosis.

I do realize every person is different but there are some stereotypes that just puzzle me. Maybe because I was a bachelor for so long before her I never needed a mother (seeing how mine had me doing all my own crap since I was 12) that I cant stand a woman mothering me or thinking she is in charge like mom. Partners ok fine, thinking you are my mother, ummm no.

You just gotta know when to put your foot down, or simply go with the flow. It's a ballancing act.

A lot of guys I know have terrible ballance.

A strong disciplined and self contained guy may very well attract a girl that isn't so together... And vice versa.

Stereotypes come about for a reason.

What does gender have to do with it?

What do you mean? If were are talking about "wives" treating their husbands like children, the man obviously is letting it happen that way.

Then in the end they have a sexless marriage because who wants to screw mom. She gets more frigid and bitter, hes more pissed cause shes a bitch...on and on it goes

This sums it up perfectly:

Some people just allow themselves to live as stereotypes. A lot of guys are just weak or actually enjoy being babied/controlled by an overbearing woman.

I could never allow myself to do that. I respect my wife wholeheartedly, but neither of us wants to have our relationship turn into something like that. Plus, personally, I hate being babied. :)

Normally, I'd agree, but ...
