only two faults of it is;

1. makes me realize what a butcher I am

2. fertile soil for the sin of lust

Just finished my real gold top LP. I have a build thread on another forum if you're interested.

I'm really impressed by the BKP Mules I put on it. Also, the playability is sooo out of LP world with tummy cut and armrest contour - goodbye hurting arm!

You son of a bugger you stole my idea!!!!!!!!

But seriously, it's neat to see what it would actually look like, and I look forward to making my own some day. :)

Sorry, Bertzie, I should've held myself! ;-) Anyway, if you've never gilded before see my tips in the build thread or PM if you have any questions. Not that I'm a pro but hopefully someone can learn from my mistakes. Peace!

Its about time I post something in this thread. Finally got back to building (we moved and had a baby) and finished a tele. Hopefully MLP can tolerate a tele.

Goldtop with black plastics = the shizniz!

That carbon stuff is not to my taste (I know its one of your trademark materials ;-) ) but thats just my taste.
You're great at spraying Goldtop finishes.

Thanks buddy, that's much appreciated! There's no hard feelings on the not liking CF, I do lots of them with regular plastics too.

I ran out of strap buttons... and keen eyes will notice that I forgot a hole when I made this PG. Monday I'll yank it, drill and countersink the extra hole then hopefully a box full of strap pins will be here too :Spank

Thanks! Thats one of the mutts that was acrylic lacquer then WB topcoat over the acrylic (when I realized they wouldn't buff out)

theres something about that body finish with the grain showing so strongly that i love. its one of those finishes you cant really do on purpose, you need to paint it with the intent of a flat and smooth top, then let the pine do its thing.

i wanna make another pine guitar now!

:)

Not quite as good as the pro's on here, but I'm getting better.
A good friend of mine commissioned me to build this for his daughters
as a surprise.
