Hey brothers,

Sorry bout startin' 2 threads within a day. Just came across this -

Ebay item number - 120696669123

I was wondering if anyone knows the actual inner diameter of the knob which would fit into an Epiphone LP. I read that Epiphone uses "metric" but the thing with these cheap Chinese-made knobs are they do not indicate whether they're metric, or what not.

Had an experience last year where I bought a set of speed knobs but they wouldn't fit into ANY of my guitars. But that's not really an issue, I paid like 5 bucks then.

So back to the above, anyone knows whether this would fit?

Cheers!

Then you forced them on. Stock Epi Les Pauls use metric sized pots and Gibson USA knobs will not fit without a lot of force and a chance of destroying the pot. The size and the number of splines is wrong.

Guitarfetish has a bunch of knobs which will fit.

Nope...didn't force them...pressed them on with my thumb.

I have a Les Paul Classic. The pots could be different than whats on a Les Paul Standard, or someone had changed them out some time before I bought it. It is 12 years old.
I bought my knobs at Long and Maquade, and the packaging said Gibson. I took off the original knobs, and gave them to my son. He owns a Gibson Baldwin student Les Paul, and my old knobs fit perfectly on his.

gibson shafts are slightly larger than epiphone.

if your shaft is smaller than the knob, you can use a screw driver and spread the shaft using the slot in the middle

I dont mean to bump an old thread, but this is the best way I could do it without asking a redundant question it seems. I was looking at the knobs on GFS and was wondering how do you tell if they will fit an Epi?

they sell alpha pots. epiphones use alpha pots. they worded it terribly. but yes.

"These are the correct knobs and fit a coarse knurled pot shaft."

import shafrts are coarse. CTS/gibson are fine knurled.

Even the Gibson OEM knobs will fit on an Epi. They're a bit of a tight fit but to make this easier take some pliers and gently squeeze the split shafts a little closer together. This helps a lot. I put Gibson speed knobs on my Epi 57 Classic. No problem.

Im sorry, so all of their Gibson styles will? Like these 4 Vintage "Gibson Style" Chrome topped Black Bell Knobs

I just want to be absolutely sure. Or any of their knobs will fit Epis and I am worrying for nothing :laugh2:

I am seeing some that say Gibson style then others that dont, and wondering if there was any difference.

Those knobs will fit an Epi

Well, thanks for bumping my thread. Tell you what buddy. Change out to CTS pots. You get more knob styles to choose from. I did it. Never looked back.
