Seems interesting. I saw a little clip on it but it was very vague.

It's been around for awhile, at least in development. As an EBMM fan (a pretty small community of people), I've been waiting to see how they panned this out. They have not been very secretive about the whole thing and I think Gibson thought they were beating everyone to the punch with the whole tech guitar thing. However, EBMM definitely made the smart choice to take the time and get everything just right for the Game Changer. The way they've designed the system is just awesome, and it doesn't deviate away from a passive system. I don't think anyone will feel too uncomfortable with the system. It provides a wide variety of tones based on better utilize available resources instead of cramming a bunch of unstable and over-the-top electrical components into an ugly package (granted, the Firebird X and Game Changer aren't exactly the same thing, but they're definitely in the same ballpark of "innovation" and tone access). The system utilizes concepts and components we're all familiar with in ingenious ways. The whole 5-way blade switch concept is just cool. Kudos, EBMM.

250,000 different pickup combinations??? How in the hell do you get that out of 2 pickups with 2 coils each? And who would want 250,000 different pickup combinations?. Sorry, three of them works just fine for me.

Maybe they where looking at the H.S.H guitar config, there are 5 coils in there to play with, in phase, out of phase, parallel, series, pseudo series and pseudo parallels etc, many configurations.

I was thinking the same thing. These marketing folks are whack, you want a tele get a tele, you want a strat get a strat, want a les paul get a les paul. The only guitar i haver ever seen that did a bunch of variations that I thought was cool is that brent mason tele thing with the 3 pups.

Most of us cover maybe 2 or 3 variations of music, so why would you need something that does something you dont play?

A good example is my father giving me chit for putting cleartone lights on my acoustic. I use my acoustic for nothing more than passing the time or working on a riff maybe, I really dont give a crap about it. He is a bluegrass player and uses ridiculous sized strings $50 picks and is very dedicated to it. He said "why would you suck all the tone out of that acoustic with light strings?" My response "it sounds great and I dont care, the acoustic doesnt inspire me to play, its a tool of practice for me" My point is, somethings work for different reasons but why bend to have a mutant instrument that hardly does any one thing well? Like prs, I think they are great guitars but they are not les pauls, they are not teles, and they are not strats. They can kind of emulate them all, but none of em well.

Those pickups must have a lot of coil taps... 250,000 pickup configurations is an awful lot. There must be hundreds of wires coming out of the back of one of it's pickups.
