Only had my Epi LP GT for a month. Feeling good about myself until I go back to the shop and hear somebody who's been playing for a while play my guitar right. It sounds soooo good.

Anyway, at this point, I have no plans to alter my guitar, except i didn't like the amber knobs that come from the factory so I got new gold knobs with white inlay. I think it looks much better.

(pics included this time):applause:

Those would look great on Junior. Can you provide details on where you got them and how you did the replacement?

Sure. i bought them at Sam Ash. The brand is AllParts out of Houston, TX., product #PK 0140-032 Gold Bell Knobs - $5.00/pair.

I read where it's suggested to use a screwdriver and a cloth to protect the body. I didn't want to take a chance with scratching or bending the shaft so I used a large channel lock and pulled them out. Two came of easy, the other two I had to hold the body down with my knee and pull. It may sound like a scary approach but I think it worked out ok. Putting the new ones on, I used a hard cover book to apply even pressure. i got them on even, unlike the ones that came with the guitar. The factory knobs turned uneven.

And yes, I do believe they would like great on Junior.:thumb:

Twangin', saw the other thread. I think I'll put this project on hold until you find out what happened to your pot!

Really nice improvement:thumb: I've seen a Goldtop with gold reflector knobs fitted that also looked really good.

You can always practice! I've heard that even closing your eyes and practicing in your head has been scientifically proven to work. I do it whenever I need to be thinking about something other than I am. It sure doesn't hurt.

Ha! No you won't, you'll get the knobs and pickguard, fit them and be satisfied... for a while.:thumb:

Then somebody will post a pic of a great looking guitar and say how awesome it feels to play. Then this strange feeling will come over you and your brain will have this constant loop going on, "I must check out that guitar", "I must check out that guitar" etc. Then you know you have entered the GAS zone and you will not leave until your wallet is empty and your credit card is maxed.:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

Take it from somebody who has been in the zone many times and is poorer for it.:D
