I have owned a few FujiGen example Orville Les Paul models but have never owned any Terada examples, and have never owned any Orville by Gibson examples.

Here is a 1998 FujiGen made Orville solid top, with a tobacco ‘burst top color finish.
The top has quite a bit of flame & figure, much more easily seen in person than in photos.

The body & neck both are constructed with quartersawn mahogany; the neck being 1 piece, and the body back being 2 piece & just slightly off-set from center seam.
This one weighs in at the high 8 lb. range, which IMO is about a perfect weight for a Les Paul.

Since this is a 1998 example, this would be near the end of Orville production, transitioning into the Epi Japan era stuff.

Enjoy the pics ………………

I should comment that my post was made before any text was added and there were just photos. Don't want to look like I'm being a dick now do I..

Actually Chris, I've always wondered if your Greco and Tokai LS-70 (currently in your Signature) have pairs of solid top maple slabs or a thinner top slabs or veneers ? I have found a few birdseye tops to be 1/8th" thick top veneers rather than solid maple tops which surprised me and it made me wonder...
