Seriously though, guitars with just a natural wood finish give me the worst GAS,

anyone else out there feel the same? the more it looks like a tree the better for me

Looks like a Bmaj6 ?

I always think of Jimi Hendrix when I play that chord: I think it's technically an E7#9 (an E7 with an added G natural).

I totally agree with Leumas, something about the G# and the G fighting it out gets me every time.
