Purchased a JJ MM about 3 weeks ago and moved forward with mods.

Bridge 1976 PAF pup rewound at vinatgevibeguitars
Neck 1972 MM pup rewound by Curtis Novak
1983 Gibson Kahler
1972 Gibson tuners.

Had one of our machinist do the routing since my Luthier is on tour.

Sorta worried here:shock: .... We had to castrate part of the tenon *OUCH*.... But I went ahead and added some gorilla glue to the crevices.

An image with the parts mounted... I still have to wire up everything.... I thought I lost the "TONE" label on one of the witch-hats... But found it...thank god!

Switched out the stock PING tuners and went with some 72 Gibson tuners.... I'm waiting on the nickel tulip pegs from Schaller..... Man that was like pulling teeth to get those:shock:

Let us know how it sounds! I like the embossed bridge cover. I love my JJMM and they are a great platform for mods! :)

I think both embossed covers look pretty cool.

Sweet!:thumb:
Got the P90s ordered yesterday for my '07 MM. Routing
starts tomorrow for the neck and we're making a Tortoise
Shell guard in the JJ MM style (moving the input to it's
proper place on the side). I'm not anywhere near as
capable as yourself so I'm having my guitar tech handle
all these mods. I'll post 'before & after' photos when done:applause:

Actually I purchased the 76 PAF and the cover from a friend for $80. Then I sent them both to vintagevibeguitars to have it custom wound.

Were you having your PUP rewound to your specs or the 76's original specs?

There's a guy here in Australia that's selling embossed pickup covers on ebay that he's made himself for about US$45. They look pretty good in the photos.

It's custom wound..... I've never been a big fan of the PAF.... it's a bit too mid-rangey for my liking..... He added different magnets and a thicker winding so that it will have more output.
