It looks new, maybe it's a reissue case...

Good luck

I'm no expert, but it looks like an old 5-latch Lifton of some sort. Did I mention that I'm no expert? :)

It looks like the shadow of a missing oval Lifton sticker on the neck support.

Mike Slubowski has a group of old case pics over the The Les Paul Forum. He'd be a good one to ask to narrow down the year.

Mid/late 50's 5latch lifton.
Worth 2-5k, depending on finding a motivated buyer.
In unusually good shape, kicks the price up.

yes... looks like it to me also...pretty clean as well, even with the stickers on it.If it was mine and home to one of my vintage pieces, I wouldn't part with it.

That's a great case, especially in THAT shape.

If you ever want to get rid of it.......(nudge,nudge)

Not certain, but I'm pretty sure the cases for the flat-tops are different from the cases for the carved top Les Pauls even back in those days. Whilst you've got a really nice case, I don't think it's worth quite the money that a correct Les Paul Standard case is.

I think Liam is correct, it's not that the case is going to be CHEAP, just cheaper if it is for a slab body instead of a carved top Standard, and thank God for that since Specials are not in the price range of Standards and it's nice to know some parts are not sharing that Burst' parts price range. Does your single cut Special fit tight in the case or does it need a folded towel under the body to keep it from rattling? Nice looking case in very nice condition for having all those travel stickers.

No, that's a bona fide burst case, worth all the money. Unusually clean, too-
