I didn't buy a ticket. I wanted too, but with no CC transfering funds online is a pain. I also survived the big scandal over at ZW.com and have been leery of forum contests and 'deals' ever since.

Out of curiosity. The money taken was to be used for this site right? To make improvements? Or am I wrong?

So with the money taken in, what was it used for. What improvements were made if at all.

Basically, the site takes money to maintain, keep us running with bandwidth and what not. Service fees, I'm not sure if Vbulliten is a one time payment, or you keep paying to use their software.

I understand that, but when money is taken in for a purpose, those that gave the money, have a right to find out where the money went.
Easy to say.. oh I paid this and that, but who knows where the money went if nothing is ever said.

This does need to be come out in public, members do have a right to know the details and updates.
This could go on for a long time. The fact that money has parted, they do have some legal right to know.

When someone does a raffle, especially online, there are legal requirements to follow.

Now instead of people wondering, rumors and so forth, it is best to give explanation in full then no more worries.

In the end, people are still suing to get their money back. It's been 4 years now or so and I've heard its still continuing. ZW's management didn't do squat, and refused to acknowledge it even happened. The guys who ran the whole thing got off mostly scott free as near as I can tell.

I knew something was up when threads started disappearing, and then one day the entire board was blanked, including the original thread that offered the 'deal' all under the guise of an upgrade to VB. We're not talking a couple dollars here, like this forum contest. We're talking members paying up to and beyond $500 each...

When I had to step down, well... The new money handler stopped being so forthcoming.
