Did ya ever go into a diner, or a mom & pop place and get a really great cup of coffee?
Of course you have. It's spectacular, especially in morning.
Unless you're Lee. then, pfffft.
Long time ago, right after we got married and moved into our first rental, I met a guy and his (eventually ex) wife. We all became very close friends, and they would visit us in CA when we lived there. We lost track of each other eventually.
Anyway, his family owned the Ellis Coffee Company.
There were purveyors to "the industry" for all things coffee in the tri-state area. Sales, service, etc.
It seemed to me, like an organized crime-like arrangement. - LOL One price for everything, but with minimums that were never waived. When you were in, you were "in."
Kinda like a timeshare, IMO.
Or, the Hotel California.
But, none of that matters....
He used to turn us on to cases of the commercial, single serving nitrogen infused bags of freshly roasted and ground coffee. You'd need a big Bunn to brew a full bag.
Which of course he gave us, too. Best machine I ever had. Lasted almost 18 years. The new ones are shit. I gave up on Bunn.
But.... that coffee? Some of the best coffee ever. Just good old, high end commercial grade coffee, that back in the day cost us a half a buck, if that, in the diner. All you can guzzle.
